Failed to Download Tacho Data
A County Antrim operator has been convicted at Lisburn Magistrates’ Court and fined a total of £1,500 after DVA Enforcement Officers stopped a DAF 3 axle rigid body goods vehicle at the A6, Toome.
An analysis of the tachograph identified multiple tachograph offences and a failure to download the tachograph for 1948 days which is 1858 days outside the 90 day limit. In addition, the operator also failed to get the tachograph recalibrated to reflect a change of vehicle registration number.
Didn’t Take Sufficient Daily Rest
A County Down driver has been fined a total of £800 at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court.
The conviction arose when DVA Enforcement Officers stopped a Volvo FH3 axle articulated unit in the Larne area. An examination of the vehicle’s tachograph data found that the vehicle had been driven on 4 occasions where the driver had failed to take sufficient daily rest.
Exceeded Daily Driving Period
A County Antrim driver was convicted at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court and fined a total of £700 after DVA Enforcement Officers stopped a 3+3 Volvo articulated good vehicle in the Larne area for the purposes of an inspection.
Analysis of the driver’s tachograph data identified that the driver had failed on multiple occasions to take his daily rest, had exceeded the requisite daily driving period and had failed to take a break after driving for 4.5 hours.
Didn’t Download Digital Smartcard
A Belfast operator has been fined £600 at Belfast Magistrates’ Court after DVA Enforcement Officers directed a 3 axle Iveco rigid vehicle to the Department’s Weighbridge at Garmoyle Street, Belfast.
During an analysis of the vehicle’s tachograph data it was identified that the tachograph data had not been downloaded in 260 days, 170 days outside the 90 day EU tachograph limit. In addition the driver’s digital smartcard had not been downloaded in 614 days, 568 days outside the 28 day EU tachograph limit.
Drove With No Driver’s Card Inserted
A County Tyrone Operator was convicted at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court and fined a total of £1200. The conviction arose when DVA Enforcement Officers stopped a 3 axle Scania articulated lorry in combination with a 3 axle trailer.
During an examination of vehicle’s tachograph data it was identified that the tachograph data had not been downloaded in 531 days, 441 days outside the required EU tachograph limits, and that the vehicle had been driven on multiple occasions with no drivers’ card inserted. In addition, the vehicle was not specified on the operator’s licence.
