OUT & ABOUT IN WNC
Our agents were out and about this summer and through early fall! From helping build communities up through service to celebrating with clients, below are a few fun highlights to share from our “Company News Feed."
Welcome Chantal Wilburn!
A multi-talented real estate agent with a passion for art, a zest for life, and a love for adventure.
Born with a creative spirit, Chantal's journey as an artist began at an early age, sketching and painting her way through childhood. As she grew, so did her artistic endeavors, exploring various mediums and showcasing her work in galleries across the country.
Throughout her life, she has lived in different corners of the country, embracing the diversity and beauty that each region has to offer. Amidst her travels, Chantal discovered her affinity for the great outdoors. Whether hiking through majestic mountains or camping beneath the start lit sky, she found solace in nature's embrace. This deep connection with the outdoors influenced her work as a real estate agent, as she passionately sought to help others find their perfect slice of paradise.
As a real estate professional, Chantal combines her artistic eye with her vast knowledge of the country's landscapes and neighborhoods. Her keen attention to detail and ability to see the potential in every property allow her to match clients with their dream homes. Chantal's diverse experiences make her the ideal guide in the real estate field.
With Chantal as your agent, you can be sure that you'll not only find the perfect property but also embark on a journey filled with artistic inspiration, love for nature, and a true sense of belonging.

A Bittersweet Goodbye from Jan Newsome
#ForeverAgent
At Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, we take a Forever Agent® Pledge to provide invaluable service to our clients throughout their entire real estate journey. Jan Newsome showed us exactly what that looks like when she recently hosted a farewell party for one of her clients and beloved friend, Ann Strother.
Ann was a main actor in their C.A.T.S. drama club as well as a 25-year resident. We love this flashback photo of Jan and Ann at one of the C.A.T.S. social events:
The farewell party was full of love, laughter, and poignant memories. Jan transported guests back in time with a reading of the Tampa Bay Times article, She waited, but Kennedy never came. The reporter captured Ann at the age of 31 when she lived in Dallas. Anxious with anticipation, she arrived early at the luncheon she had helped plan for President Kennedy & his wife, Jackie. Unfortunately, the couple’s motorcade never arrived on that day, November 22, 1963.
You never know who you are sitting next to and the stories they have to share. At Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, we know the back stories of the people who live here become a part of the very fabric of our communities. During this special season of giving thanks, we raise a glass to the journey and the lasting friendships we make along with way.

Jan writes, "My friend, Ann... still as posed & eloquent as her former Fashion Model runway days both in Clearwater, FL & Dallas, TX."
The Scoop from Jay Spiro
There’s a new chef in town! At the August Rotary Club of Sylva Assembly, Jay Spiro was bequeathed the official Rotary Apron. Spatula in hand, he will now be serving up sweet treats at Rotary Pancake Honor Breakfasts. We know the club will be in good hands with Jay!
Announcements from Anette Chrisley
This summer, Anette fostered her creativity by painting wine bottles. The curved glass canvas proved tricky to work with at first. We love that Anette’s genius husband fashioned her a custom stand to assist. Anette now uses her beautifully repurposed bottles to water plants.
Correspondence from Candy Wood
If you’re looking to liven up your interior with indoor house plants, then we highly recommend reaching out Candy Wood!
“I would like to give a shout out to my daughter that got me addicted to this very expensive habit lol!” writes Candy.
Communications from Christy Mitchell
“We are starting to see pops of color at Mitchell’s Mountain, home to The Sasquatch Inn! This secluded, private and heavily wooded primitive cabin sits on 32 acres in the Mountains of Western North Carolina. Check out details in the Vacation Rentals section of the magazine and book your next stay!
Headlines from Hope Reagan
Fall is a very busy time for various street festivals, County fairs, art tours and more in our small mountain towns.
This year, my husband and I made our rounds to many of the county fairs and festivals in WNC.
