the neighbor named l a b o u r Because the rapid extension of the city causes more advanced prosperity and conceals poverty underneath the ruin of the earth of canal banks, every area in Chiang Mai is full of buildings that look as if they sprang up from the soil. A huge number of labours including the Thais from the countries or foreigners come to Chiang Mai to become most of its citizens. This causes slum society in Chiang Mai, and the residence of these labours are not up to standard, which later may make itself become a a place of danger and ill repute. The labours also cannot afford a house from the project for people with low income launched by the government, or they just do not have the guarantee to withdraw the money from the bank to buy their own residence. Also, these people need cheap public transportation that can be accessed with ease. This is hardly possible if they buy houses from projects in the suburb, as they will be far from their workplaces. Nowadays, many labours must wait near Assadathorn Road for their bosses to pick them up if their bosses have a mind to. These labors, moreover, do not have a choice regarding their jobs because their first and only priority is to feed themselves and their families to survive each day. Furthermore, these problems have been chronical for a long time and the government has not been able to solve them. This idea sprang from these problems. It aims to make changes with residence. The building must be vertical as it will reduce the rent. Consequently, the labors will be able to afford the rent, and can become more skillful. It also aims to build a system that helps the labours communicate with their bosses, which will reduce the time, for they do not have to wait for their bosses to pick them up for work. The concept of the building is that the building functions as a medium to connect the labours and their bosses. The building also connects the labours with the local people in order for them to live their lives together, participating in activities, such as festivals or crafting excercise.

In the building process, all the trees are kept the same to give the shade to the house. Also, as the weather in Thailand is hot, the wind outlets are built in the house as many as possible. The house is a traditional Thai house in wood building and there is a space under the house that can be used. It also is related to the old Bhramanism in that the design is centralized to connect the building with the old environment.
