he 2011 season at Five Flags Speedway is officially underway and my question to you fans is “Do You Believe Me Now?” I promised you, in the last newsletter, that we planned to bring you a great 2011 season. How did you like the way we kicked it off? All I’ve heard on the street is rants and raves about the great show the Super Late Models put on to kick off the new racing year. et’s take a moment to congratulate Bubba Pollard on his weekend sweep at both Pensacola and Mobile. ast race I mentioned a Demolition Derby. Well fans, one is in the planning stages. We will be announcing the date shortly. It has been a long time since the last one, maybe 15-20 years.

ow let’s turn our attention to the open wheel Modifieds. I’m sure they don’t want to disappoint you, as each of them will be trying to take the $1,200 first place money to the bank come Monday. We are looking for a good car count tonight for the 50 lap “Modified Mania ” with such drivers as the Ingersoll brothers, Tim Martin, Rusty Sanford, Gerald Wilkerson and others shown on the front page.. lso on the card for the special 2 for 1 admission night are the Sportsman, Bombers and the 5/8 scale Pro Challenge cars and trucks. You will be amazed how fast these little vehicles can get around our super fast ½ mile oval. All of them run an 1100 cc Kawasaki engine that produces around 140 HP. f course we have to congratulate our “hometown girl” Johanna Long on her Pro Athlete of the Year award presented by the Pensacola Sports Association. Way to go Jo. You LatUSAMedia Photo make us proud!!! wo weeks from tonight, another great innovation by the Bryants. The first of five Pro Late Model races that will go 100 green laps. ell enough for now. I’ll see you in the pits and oh yeah, make sure you bring a friend next time.

It Doesn’t Get Any Closer Of A Finish...
Bubba Winslow (44) overtakes Jessie Reid (18) as they race to the stripe. Three officials ruled that Winslow crossed the stripe first, and gave the rookie a razor thin win at the Super Stock opener 2 weeks ago. Look out next time. They are back in 2 weeks.
