Introduction
This book will lead you through the journey of learning all about electricity! It has important, interesting and other facts. Some of the things in this book you might not know. Some of them you might. This book will tell things that have to do with electricity. Like: electricity in your body, people that made inventions with it or that discovered it, and other things. I hope you will enjoy the book!

About Electricity
Electricity in Our Body
Do you know when people everywhere talk all about the nervous system sending “signals to the” brain? Or synapses “firing”? Or the brain telling our hands to contract around a door handle? What we all are really talking about is the brain caring messages.
Lightning In a thundercloud, many small pieces of ice bump in each other while they spin in the air. All those collision create an electrical charge. Later, the hole cloud gets filled with electrical charges (usually with the negative charge closest to the earth). Since opposites come close to each other, that causes a positive charge to build up on the ground beneath the cloud. The grounds electric charge concentrates around anything that sticks up. Mountains, lone trees, people, and even grass all stick up. The charge streaming up from these points eventually connects with a charge below the clouds. Then finally, lightning strikes.
Lighting Storm
The brain caries messages between point A and point B. It’s really kind of like a digital cable signal carrying “Law and Order”. Except , in our bodies electrons aren’t moving through a wire. Instead an electrical charge is jumping from one cell to the next and the next. Until it finally arrives at it’s destination.

Discovery of Electricity
Light Bulb
Greeks Greeks were the first ones to discover electricity. They discovered it about 3,000 years ago. The name came from the word “elektron”. Elektron also means amber. Amber is a yellow fossilized rock. It is found in tree sap. The Greeks discovered that they could rub amber and wool together. Than light objects like straws and feathers would stick to it. This form of electricity is called “static” electricity.
Thomas Alva Edison
Inventions With Electricity Thomas Alva Edison (that lived through February 11, 1847 to October 18, 1931) was an American Inventor. Mr.Edison was also a businessman. He developed many devices that made peoples life better all around the world. Some of those devices were the phonograph, motion picture camera. But the invention he is most known for is the long lasting practical electric light bulb.
Amber
He was nicknamed the Wizard of Menlo Park. He was one of the first inventors to apply the principals of mass production and large scale teamwork to the step by step process of invention. Thats why, he is many times credited with the construction of the first industrial research laboratory. Thomas Alva Edison was a great inventor. 5
How Does Electricity and Microwave Heating Work? Negative and Positive Charges How Does Microwave Heating Work? One of the uses of electricity is microwave heating. The electricity is turned in radio waves by a generator.In microwave cooking, the radio waves go inside the food and excite water and fat molecules pretty much equally everywhere around he food. No heat has to go to the middle of the food by conduction. There is heat everywhere all at the same time. There is heat everywhere at the same time because all the molecules are exited at the same together.
How Does Electricity Work? Electricity works because electric charges push and pull each other. There always are 2 types of electric charge: positive and negative charges. Similar charges always repel. If 2 positive charges come close together, them you let them go, they will move apart. That wold also happen to two negative charges, they would repel. Two different charges attract. If a positive and negative charge get close together,they smack together. They work like magnets. A short way to remember all this is opposite attract, likes repel.
Microwave
Microwaves go in unevenly in fat pieces of food (the can’t reach the middle) and there also are “hot spots” caused by the interference, but you get the idea of microwave heating. The hole heating process is different with a microwave. It is different with a microwave because you are “exciting atoms”. Instead of using the oven and conducting heat.

Electricity in Our Lives How Does Electricity Get to My House? Electricity is easy to find-just turn on a switch or plug anything in. But how does electricity get to your house, your school or even the place you work at? Today electricity is made in many different ways, like from wind and solar power! After it has been made, electricity is sent on power lines. Those power lines can carry it over for long distances. These transmission lines are How often known as high voltage lines. Higher voltage allows electricity to travel better. The electricity later reaches your neighborhood where the voltage is reduced. And from there it goes through distribution lines all the way to your home, school business and other things. Finally your plugged in!
How Does Electricity Help Us? Electricity helps us in tons of ways. It helps us with our medical stuff, our entertainment, our temperatures, our climate, our education, our operated machines and many, many more things.Also physics is one of most important field in science because is used to make cars move. It also makes technology work and turn lights on and off.
Electricity Gets to Your House
We would be nothing without electricity’s help. Electricity operates machines to do our dirty work for us. Think if you lived your life without a fridge. It would be horrifying , were would all your food go?!

Glossary collision- crashing together fossilized-replace organic with mineral object in the leftovers of an organism, this process takes millions of years conducting- to guid voltage- an electromagnetic force or potential that ‘s difference is known as volts physics- the type of science that is about matter, energy, motion and force field-activity, interest, etc.
