Introduction This book is about the planet Mars.Do you ever wonder if Mars has life or what it is made of? So in this book you will find it out. In this book you will understand what Mars is made of and a vivid information about the future. This book is suitable for all ages.

Discovery

Fact File These traces were there for millions of years and that there isn’t any wind

Scientists have found out that there was life on the Red Planet. They have discovered that a life form lives in Mars which amazingly also lives on earth. The Life Form is called Chemolithoatotroph. The type of stone was found inside the crater where Curiosity landed which shows that there was a lake there before. N.A.S.A says that the rocks were there for millions of years. The lake on Mars was very suitable for life.

Traces of water on Mars

A group of scientists said that the huge Chicxulub Asteroid which smashed to earth 66 million years ago, fired rocks into space in the dinosaur times. Six rocks from earth carried bacteria spores to Jupiter’s moon Europa. They claim some of these rocks might have carried life to Mars and the life forms still survived.

Description Mars surface is very rigid dry and barren. The surface has many of old volcanoes, also it has enormous craters. The entire planet can be covered by a single sandstorm. Mars can be observed easier than all the other planets in the solar system. The radius is half the size as Earths. It has a mass of Earths’ one tenth.

Storm

Mars's weather is the most amazing weather as for there are sand and dust storms but the carbon dioxide ice caps still survive. Climate changes with the season as Mars moves it self. There is a large amount of carbon dioxide ice caps. The most dynamic weather patterns occurs on Mars. Surprisingly some huge storms cover the whole planet. Developing the knowledge of how these storms occur are in the future climate studies.

Location The most important thing is knowing the distance between the planets. Sending spacecrafts to the Red Planet is all about precision. Every Little thing is controlled by the group N.A.S.A. Unfortunately the distance no matter what changes. The first person to discover the distance is Giovanni Cassini. He is very famous for all the observations he done to Saturn the biggest planet.

Fact Saturn has a huge ring of rocks

Information about Mars

Like all other planets Mars moves in an elliptical orbit. Elliptical mean that it moves so that it has a closest point and farthest point. When any object reaches the closest point it is called Perihelion depending on the orbit. Mars has one which is 207 million KM. The farthest point is called Aphelion to the center, the sun. Mars also has one which is 249 million KM.

Extra Info The Rover Curiosity which was sent to Mars found metal in Mars. The rover took a photo of the shiny metal. The metal looked like a door handle or a hood ornament. Also scientist thought that it might be an Ancient Civilization. Scientist are questioning if or not to send people to Mars in the future. If people do land they would have travelled more than any one else. Maybe people might be able to live on Mars. If there is water under all that surface there would be life. However the scientist have to learn more about Mars if they want to Civilize the Red Planet.
