The School District of Tomahawk offers comprehensive, rigorous educational programming for students from Pre-K through twelfth grade. The district provides a full range of special education services, complete pupil service programs, and a wide variety of co-curricular opportunities for its students. Tomahawk Elementary School: (715) 453-2126

Pre-K through 5th grade. Tomahawk participates in the state-sponsored SAGE program that provides for a student-to-teacher ratio of 15 to 1 through the third grade. The elementary school also offers the option of traditional, straight graded classes as well as multi-age classrooms.

Tomahawk Middle School: (715) 453-5371

6th through 8th grade. Operates within the team structure, designed for teachers to get to know a core group of students very well and to plan integrated learning activities for the team. There is academic exploration for all students annually in the subjects of technology education, computers, family and consumer education, art, foreign language, and health.

Tomahawk High School: (715) 453-2106

9th through 12th grade. Offers a curriculum designed to prepare students for success in post-secondary studies and the challenges of the world of work in the 21st century. With a strong core academic program, the high school offers a variety of advanced placement courses as well as complete foreign language programs in both German and Spanish. Approximately 2/3 of our graduates enter post-secondary educational institutions.

3 & 4-year-old preschool, all-day 4K and K–5th, St. Mary’s Catholic School has been servicing the Tomahawk community since 1926. St. Mary’s is fully committed to the teachings of the Catholic Church and spreading Christ’s commandment to love one another. In an atmosphere of academic excellence, we strive to develop the whole child through prayer, family involvement, and service. Northwoods residents and visitors have come to depend on Nicolet College for a wide variety of educational and cultural offerings. Academically, Nicolet Area Technical College offers numerous associates degrees, technical diplomas, and certificate programs as well as a university transfer program. The college also offers basic education classes, continuing education offerings, economic development programs for businesses, the Outdoor Adventure Series, the Institute for Learning in Retirement, and a variety of specialized training opportunities. Culturally, the college offers an annual theater and lecture series, bringing to the area Northwoods nationally acclaimed acts and speakers.

Treehaven is a natural resource and education center owned and operated by the University of WisconsinStevens Point. The multi-purpose, year-around facility provides a beautiful Northwoods setting for public workshops, conferences, university courses, meetings, educational seminars, school environmental programs, and naturalist programs for all ages. Treehaven consists of 1,400 acres of northern Great Lakes forest and hosts many outdoor educational series.
