Don’t Miss the Cable Area Fall Fest

CABLE – All the best things that you love about autumn will be on display at the annual Cable Area Fall Fest on Friday-Saturday, Sept. 29-30 in Cable. Early fall brings cooler temperatures, perfect for a road trip!

It’s Colorama time, so many of the trees will be in beautiful hues of gold red, and orange colors, courtesy of Mother Nature. The locals are kicking it up a notch by lining the roads and streets with cornstalks, hay bales and pumpkins. There will be live music, a car/motorcycle/truck show, arts and crafts vendors, and food vendors.

Activities kick off Friday with a fall harvest dessert contest at 3 p.m. You can sign up to be an “official” judge by contacting the Chamber of Commerce. The late afternoon and evening offerings include a Northwoods-style fish fry at 5 p.m., the beer and wine garden starting at 4 p.m. (Saturday, too), and live music by Brian Pierce and Low Hanging Fruit – bring your dancing shoes!

Saturday kicks off with a pumpkin pecan pancake breakfast at 7:30 a.m., arts and crafts show at 9 a.m., the vehicle show at 9 a.m. and live music all day on the chamber deck. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., there’ll be bounce houses and carnival games for kids. Stop by the Badger Football Fall Fest Huddle at the Lions’ tent starting at 10 a.m. The wine and cheese tasting event will be at 5 p.m. in the Community Center.

You can pick up seasonal harvests at the farmer’s market. The food court features many different cuisines. A tent showcases local restaurants’ best-selling pies, burgers, turkey legs and more. Watch the chefs whip up some of their delectable dishes and give them a taste.
