American Red Cross Babysitting Basics – Online Open Registration Participants will learn safety skills and the sensible decisionmaking tools required to babysit. This class can prepare participants for their first babysitting job, or help them develop the skills needed to improve. Register online.

American Red Cross – First Aid/CPR/AED Training Dec. 28, Jan. 11, Feb. 8 With the help of certified American Red Cross instructors, this program will help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing, and first aid emergencies. Upon successful completion of this course, they will receive a digital certificate for Adult First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years. Register online.

YOGA MOVEMENT CLASS

Join Sue Johnson for a yoga-based movement class at Gahanna Municipal Golf Course Clubhouse (220 Ridenour Rd.) to soothe body and spirit. Learn to stretch and strengthen your muscles, providing a release of tension and improving balance and bone strength. All levels welcome. Ages 14 and up.

SENIOR CENTER

Holiday Brunch & Craft Market/Bazaar 10 a.m. Thurs, Dec. 9 (Gahanna Senior Center, 480 Rocky Fork Blvd.) Celebrate the holiday season by gathering with your Gahanna Senior Center friends and staff for a holiday performance, festive brunch, craft sales, and even a visit from Santa!

Sauce and Song 4:30 p.m. Thurs, Feb. 17 (Gahanna Senior Center, 480 Rocky Fork Blvd.) You’re invited to the Senior Center’s spaghetti dinner and singalong concert with Gahanna’s own, Joe Hebdo! Don’t miss a delicious Italian dinner that includes pasta, meatball, bread, salad, a drink, and dessert. Dinner will be served 4:30 -6 p.m. Joe Hebdo will begin performing at 5:30 p.m. Tickets on sale at the Gahanna Senior Center starting in January.

OUTDOOR EXPLORERS

Snow Day 12-1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18 Gahanna schools are out today, so come spend time outside at Friendship Park for games and crafts. Cut some creative snowflakes, play animal-themed games, learn winter facts, and have fun!

Join the Gahanna Parks & Rec team for part-day enrichment experiences. Enjoy some of our favorite activities, like arts & crafts, games, nature exploration (weather permitting) and more. Rec Club is a drop-off activity; caregivers are not required to stay on-site during the program. For children ages 5–12 years.

Drop & Shop 10 a.m.-1p.m. Sat., Dec. 18

(Gahanna Senior Center, 480 Rocky Fork Blvd.) Drop the kiddos at the Gahanna Senior Center for some seasonal fun while you complete holiday tasks, enjoy a lunch out, or just relax at home! We’ll provide the fun – games, pizza lunch, and a seasonal movie!

Winter Fun 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Wed., Dec. 22

(Gahanna Golf Course Clubhouse, 220 Olde Ridenour Rd.) Join members of the Gahanna Rec team to explore winter science, play some games, and create themed art. Activities will take place indoors at the Clubhouse with an outdoor excursion, weather permitting.

REC CRATES

Winter Break Crate Winter Fun Kits for the kids! Register by Dec. 6

The crates have at least five hands-on winter themed activities for kids to complete. The crate contains instructions with images and all the items needed for each activity (besides some household items). These are great for children of all ages. Register online at ExploreGahannaParks.com

Mystery Crate Hands-On Activity Boxes for Kids!

Enjoy a random selection of activities from past crates. Crates will have at least seven activities, including games, crafts, and outdoor education. Instruction cards and all the items needed to complete the activities at home are included (besides household items). These are best suited for children eight years years and up, but they can be completed by children of all ages with help from an adult. Register online at ExploreGahannaParks.com

Amazing Athletes of Central Ohio

Amazing Athletes is a developmental physical program. Teaching methods are based on age, with tot classes focused on discovery-based learning using structured physical activities. Classes for older students encourage the exploration and development of athletic skills through different sports.
