Wednesdays, April 7, 14, 21 & 28, 9:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. Workshop is intended for Service Members returning from deployment. Spouses are encouraged to attend.
Post-Deployment Readiness
Wednesdays, April 7, 14, 21 & 28, 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. This workshop will give you tips on how to prepare yourself and family members while you are deployed.

Key Spouses are appointed by a Commander to promote individual, family and unit readiness. Consult with the Commander, then call A&FRC to schedule the training.
Initial Counseling & Pre-Separation Counseling
Monday, April 5 & 19, 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Are you separating or retiring from military service? Fulfill your Initial Counseling and Pre-separation briefing requirement at this mandatory briefing preferably 18 months before separating and 24 months prior to retiring, but mandated NLT 365 days before leaving the service.
SMC INTRO Program
Tuesday, April 6, 8 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Newcomers are briefed on the exciting world of the Air Force and the cutting edge technology of SMC 2.0. They will be provided with informational briefings, as well as a base tour, and civilian members will be sworn in. First Officer Duty Station
Thursday, April 8, 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Learn budgetary basics, saving tips, and how to survive in this high cost area. This is a mandatory class for all O1 & O2 who are new to Los Angeles AFB. All military and civilians may attend.
Transition Workshop
April 12-14, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. The three day format covers a broad range of topics from financial planning to job search to a VA benefits briefing. Spouses are highly encouraged to attend. This workshop is mandatory for all separating members, highly recommended for retiring military members.
Managing Your Move
Thursday, April 15, 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Get good advice on planning your next PCS from the clinic, traffic management and finance.
DOL Career and Credential Exploration Track (C2E)
April 15-16, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. The Department of Labor delivers a 2 day workshop to assist transitioning service members, veterans and spouses define career goals, identify required credentials, find career and technical training opportunities and identify resources.

EFMP Autism Awareness Virtual Resource Fair
April 8, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Virtual Resource Fair will have several community agencies that will be available to assist military families and DOD affiliates who have a family with disability and special needs. This will include resources such as ADA compliant sports resources, ABA therapy resources, resources and information pertaining to Autism and other conditions. To register, please email smc.laafb.efmpfamilysupport@us.af.mil April 14, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. All 3 EFMP components brief all newly enrolled and newly relocated EFMP families. Discusses the process of EFMP, the regulations and roles of each EFMP components and local resources that assist with the special needs community.
April 20, 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Building a student portfolio workshop is to teach military parents on how to build a student portfolio for their children. This will cover various topics such as IEPs, organizing school records, your child’s accomplishments, strengths, and pertinent information that will help your children when transitioning and leveling up in grades and schools.
EFMP Virtual & Autism Awareness and Month of the Military Child Walk/Run
April 22, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. The Autism Awareness Walk/Run will be done virtually through Zoom and have a small in-person group meet up at the Fort Macarthur Parade Ground if preferred. Please remember to wear blue in support of Autism Awareness. If you are interested in supporting and attending the Autism Awareness Walk/Run either virtually online or in person, please contact smc.laafb.efmpfamilysupport@us.af.mil to register.
