Pet Bird Care Temperature Most colorful pet birds are tropical species: the most comfortable temperature for them is around 20℃, and rapid changes in temperature can not be tolerated. When your pet birds “fluff-up” their feathers, then they're telling you they feel cold. On the contrary, if your birds open their mouthes and pump the throat, it’s showing that the environment temperature is too high.

Hot

Cold

Heating Methods Coal-fired Heater Irritable to birds

The heater we use is not suitable to share with your pet birds. Not only the heating scope is not direct enough, the fume from coal-fired heater will irritate bird’s respiratory system. A best heater for pet birds should be non-luminous in case of sleep disturbances. “nidosss” installs a non-luminous ceramic emitter in the cage, and uses a bird-shaped ceramic cover to moderate the heat for safety, as if a warm friend of your pet birds. Furthermore, we should concern the humidity when using the heater lest birds dehydrate.

Bird Cage and Home Environment Considering the disharmony between bird cage and living environment, “nidosss hopes a bird cage is not only a nest for your pet birds, but a stylish furniture in the house. So the design referred to lights, tried the model variety of wall hanging, desktop, and tower type, etc. Stand hanging type was finally adopted due to the concernment that active birds will make the cage swing, causing a dynamic result. Consequently, a detachable plug is designed on the top cover of the cage, then bird owners can remove the cage from the stand by unplug it.

An Urban Relation Between Birds and Human Traveling through the concrete jungle and occasionally hearing the tweet of birds brings a hint of joy to the people and ease the tension from the pursuit of their goals by satisfying their lust of nature. Some take a stroll in the park, some welcome the swallows to nest under their eaves and some choose to hang up warm-hearted bird feeders in their garden or on the balcony for birds to sing and enjoy life for us.

Bird Feeder

The types of bird feeders along with the feed in them vary from case to case, depending on what kind of birds they aim to attract. The most commonly seen bird feeders are the ones with seeds and grains, some other foods for the birds are sugar water or fruits. The grain bird feeders are the most simple to assemble, most easy to maintain, and can be in all sorts of form such as a saucer, a bowl or a pipe. Sometimes bird feeders are placed on platforms and other times hung on trees, which sway naturally as the birds fetch their food from them, an active scene is thus presented.

Popular City Car in 1950s

Survey #1

With the end of WW2, the desire of a better life had overwhelmed the society in the 1950s. Therefore, the advent of Fiat 500 truly achieved people’s dream: a simplest, fastest, most practical, and what’s the most attractive, affordable vehicle designed for common people. Fiat 500 not only created a revolution of car industry, but presented a brand-new urban lifestyle for the postwar period. Owning a car was no longer a distant dream, instead, it was how people enjoyed life with; Fiat 500 had quickly become the must-have car of its time.

Survey of the owners As to figure out a object that could be developed as a Fiat 500 cross-branding product, surveys of Fiat 500 owners are requested. Two surveys are based on a US Fiat 500 forum, conducted one after the other. The first survey was to understand basic personal information of Fiat 500 owners, and there is a significant result on occupation percentage. According to the pie chart, art, design, entertainment and media related workers occupied the most proportion of 16%, followed by management and retired people, which are both 12%. Inferring from the result, most Fiat 500 owners are people who have more free time, care about their life quality, and enjoy their lives. Thus, the second survey focused on how Fiat 500 owners enjoy their lives with. There was an obvious result that most owners love music. It told that a product about music was going to be a choice for them. So, a stereo was chosen to be that item designed for Fiat 500 owners.

Design Development Visual Identity for Final Presentation of the Semester It is a tradition in our department to hold an exhibition in the end of each semester for the final presentation of Product Design class. Thus, visual identity of it is always requested. We had three projects to work on in that semester.

One to Two: the Way We Travel and Grow The project was inspired by the curriculum of that semester, in which there were three projects for students to work on.The first project was a cube symbolized a location. Students were asked to travel in a two-person team, then design a cube related to the destination they had chosen. The second project was to design a product based on concepts of the cube, personally. And the third one was a home appliance design project. It seemed individual, but was an extension of the training on the second project, which focused on details of products. Students got achievements from a trip to a cube, then to two products. That was the way we grow: like a dandelion seed spread to different destinations, landing on the ground and grows up with the soil nutrient.
