Though he sped like a dart, The Tortoise was first. She was smart: "You can surely run fast," She remarked. "Yet you're last. It is better to get a good start."

Pray, what has happened to your brain? You seem pretty sick. Call a doctor in, quick, And let him prescribe for your pain." "Never mind," said the Tortoise. "Let's run! Will you bet me?" "Why, certainly." "Done!" While the slow Tortoise creeps Mr. Hare makes four leaps,

Pondering Corner Who owns space?

This question of who owns space comes to the minds of people, is it everybody’s or nobody’s? This is coming to light now as multiple nations and private companies are capable of space exploration. The reason is so because people did not consider space as a solid or attainable thing. But now due to an increase of interest in space travels, it has become pretty predominant that space will be owned in the future. Currently space exploration is controlled by the UN Outer Space Treaty of 1967. But in our technological era this treaty is inadequate. In the present time and era, scientists and explorers are briniging forward thoughts of mining and exploiting space resources. This involves mostly asteroids which will now fall under the Asteroids Act formed by the US House of Congress Subcommittee on Science, Space and Technology. But mining on asteroids is still under research and development. The Treaty also covers the satellites orbiting around the Earth and two of the principles state that countries are responsible for the damage caused by their satellites and they shall avoid any form of harmful contamination of space and celestial bodies. 3

Sam Visits Kennedy Space Center Discover A New Place

There’s so much to do and see at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida that I can barely contain myself! The long list of things to see and do here includes visits to the awesome launch pads, an opportunity to see the actual space shuttle Atlantis, see the Saturn V moon rocket and experience loads of other stuff like simulated space rides, lunch with an astronaut and the amazing NASA game Cosmic Quest. My visit here doesn’t include a rocket launch, but that in no way diminished this experience for me. The Kennedy Space Center is huge at 144,000 acres and houses around 700 facilities. I’m at the visitor complex, which itself has enough attractions to keep me occupied. There are museums and space exhibits to explore, with an up-close view of the Atlantis space shuttle, as well as many other interactive exhibit, like the Saturn V exhibit, which is plain awesome! There’s also the shuttle launch experience which is a definite must for any space-enthusiast, or just anyone who enjoys being amazed. It offers a simulated experience of how it’s like to be in space! With a launch experience and everything. You can take the guided bus tour that is included in the daily admission pass. It departs every 15 minutes from the entrance. Or you could set out to explore by yourself. There’s so much to see here that a day is never enough. Even the VIP features here like the Cosmic Quest game, and the Astronaut training experience are worth every dime!

Hades

“The other night you told me about Hercules in Greek mythology. I want to learn more about Greek mythology,” said Rohan.

“Let me tell you about Hades tonight, the God of the dead. He is considered the gatekeeper of the underworld. That was where people went after they died, according to Greek mythology.”

8

“People did not worship Hades but feared him. When the world was being divided by the three sons of Cronos, Zeus took the sky, Poseidon the seas and Hades took the underworld.”

“Hades fell in love with Persephone, the daughter of Demeter, the queen of harvest. He kidnapped her against her will and took her to the underworld. Persephone cried for days but Hades was so deeply in love with her that he wanted her to love him.

Demeter pleaded to Zeus, who sent his son Hermes as a messenger, to strike a deal with Hades. Zeus knew if he didn’t help Demeter would always be sad and the crops would not grow, leaving people starve to death.

9

Hermes struck a deal that Hades would marry Persephone and she would become the queen of the underworld but after six months Hades would send her back to Demeter. That is why the Greeks believe that Demeter lets flowers bloom to welcome her daughter and when it is time for her to leave, she gets upset and sheds all the flowers.”

“I loved the story. Greek mythology is interesting, much like Indian,” said Rohan. “It sure is,” concluded Sir Dig-a-Lot.

My father bought me a telescope when I was 14 years old. He had known for a long time that I was interested in the mysteries of outer space and finally bought me my very own telescope! It was quite powerful and I could see certain planets and stars very clearly. I had studied which planets were visible each month and was looking forward to a clear image of Venus one evening. Instead, I saw what looked like a metal shuttle soaring across the sky. What was it?
