There are many types of patterns formed through regular or irregular lists of points, lines, faces, and spaces in everyday life. In this project, I applied the meaning and morphological characteristics of pattern to site, Yeoksamdong, Gangnamgu, and developed it into masterplan and mass.
7
Stacked Pipe In front of the Mullae-dong iron works, there are pipes of different colors with different diameters, thicknesses. There is a unique pattern formed by piled up. Notable is that the patterns are regular in the frame. Also, the overlapping pipes imply that an invisible force of gravity is acting. Â The pattern of pipes with these characteristics is very similar to those of the Super Block in Gangnam, where the site is located, and each element of the pattern can be replaced by architectural language. The "diameter" of the pipe is the "building area", the "thickness" is the "F.A.R", the "color" is the "use of the building", the "grid frame" is the "block", and the direction of the "force" is interpreted as the direction of "gravity" or "urban density" acting on the site. Based on this approach, I patterned the land and the marginal area, and then worked on building the master plan and building again.

16 SEONGSU COMMUNITY HUB
seounsu community hub Studio 3 Spring 2015 Personal work
Seongsu-dong is a place that is mixed, undergoing a industrialization, from an old residential, the factory, unplanned apartments, to a newly built office. On the other hand, this is one of the "Hot Place". Cultural spaces like design shops or fancy cafe remodeled from an old factory are springing up, represented by "Daerim Warehouse". Ironically, the places are not for real neighbor, but for young people from other neighborhood. So, new community facilities that can accomodate the diverse nature of the people and lead to an influx of outsiders are needed.

22 NATURE FLOW
nature flow Formative artwork Spring 2012 Personal work
As you walk along the curve, the flow of gaze occurs naturally to the curve of the object. The gaze of the object is guided to the nature through a gap and unconsciously makes you appreciate the flow of nature, not the object.

If you give a rhythm to the length of a line placed side by side, a curve will appear at the end of the line. The rhythmic sequence of the curve generates the volume. There are always rooms on the other side of the volume. We made a wall with a paper tube of a certain length. What should be noted is a rugged space and shadows contrasting with smooth walls.

32 RUBBER CHAIR
rubber chair Seoul Public Design Contest entry Spring 2017 Personal work
Festivals are crowded with thousands of people. Each of them takes a rest and takes a rest in a different way. Some people rest on a bench, or for the others, the festival itself will be a break away from the busy routine. If so, can we clearly divide the boundaries between relaxation and enjoyment? Rubber Chair is presented in a variety of forms instead of a particular form in public spaces. Some tired people rest by recognizing it as a chair, while children rest in a circle or sit face to face and provide users with a conscious choice of function and relaxation.
33
Morphological intuition "elasticity" extends to the material. People who sit for relaxation will be surprised to find themselves enjoying unexpected excitement. Once they enjoy the elasticity, the boundaries of relaxation and play will be blurred again. This makes it a furniture for all who enjoy different forms of relaxation.

"Beyond impossible, Beyond possible."
Stationeries are not difficult to use for the general public. But they may be uncomfortable or impossible for people with disabilities, or may be subject to fear. A ruler has to grasp the length with the scale, so it is almost impossible to use for the visually impaired. However, if length is measured by sound, not by scale, it is not impossible for blind people to measure length anymore.
36 ORGEL ONおん
Utilizing the principle of the music box that the protrusions and metal pieces of various length meet and produce sound. 1cm = 1 note, 10cm = 1 melody
Scales are also marked so that it can be used by the general public.
