My diet Nowadays , many teenagers are interested in their looks. This is why changes in their bodies may make them feel uncomfortable, or make them feel that they are different from their friends, or even worry about their looks or what others think about them.
How do you feel about your looks? Answer with honesty the following questions with ‘yes’ or ‘no’, to discover how you feel about your body.
1) Do you think slim people are more successful than f those who are overweight ? 2) Are most people you admire thin? 3) Are you so worried about your body that you are thinking of starting a diet?
4)Do you think that some parts of your body are worrying you? 5)Do you think that you would have more friends if you were thiner ? 6)Do you put off some of your activities (swimming, dancing etc) until you become slim?
7) Do you feel bad when you eat certain foods like chocolate or ice cream? 8) Do you regard yourself fat? 9) Are you ashamed of your body?
10) Are you worried about putting on weight? 11) Do you look at your self in the mirror and feel bad about your body?
Count how many ‘yes’ or ‘no’ you answered and write down the total score.
If you answered : 1. ‘Yes’ more than once: You think that your body is not good enough the way it is now. A slimmer body would make you more attractive and you would have many opportunities for success. But , a perfect body or weight would not make you more talented or more clever. Feeling good about yourself and having more faith in your abilities will help you accept yourself for what you are. Try to feel as good as you can with the body you have , learning to make the right choices in relation to your diet.
2. “No” to everything or just once “Yes”: You have understood that the sudden changes in your body and your feelings are normal for your development. You have learned to feel good with yourself and as you grow up and change. Be sure to make the right choices in your diet so that so you stay healthy.
