NANOSKIN GLASS MOLECULE is a chemical solution that uses sol-gel process to form a colloid of solid particles under 100 nanometers in size, which hardens to form a protective shield (glass-like film), prolonging surface perfection, NOT a wax or Teflon. Durability is strong with a consistent 25~30 car washes. Best results are achieved by applying with 0.8mm mini HVLP spray gun@20PSI in very thin coats. GLASS MOLECULE has a 24-48 hour cure time which requires no attention from the user. After the cure, GLASS MOLECULE will be glossier and harder. Directions: 1. Rinse car with water to remove dirt and grease, then dry. 2. Clay the surface to remove contamination. 3. Remove any oil & grease with IPA glass cleaner. 4. Introduction Once the protective shield was coated on the painted sheet, the degree of the contact angle increment was tested. The purpose of this test was to verify the water repellency after the coating of the protective shield on the experimental painted sheet.

Analysis method A contact angle meter (FTA-100) was used to measure the contact angle of water droplets. A distilled water droplet was dropped onto a sample, and the contact angle was measured. The droplet amount was 2μL, and five contact angles were measured respectively for each sample to find the average value.

Wash Durability Test 1. Foreword: The purpose of this report is to state the effects of washing on a car body coated with GLASS MOLECULE; whether it effects the water repellency. The test is done by washing the same surface with soap water and sponge 1,000 times, then measuring the contact angle. 2. Processing and preparation of samples: A metal sheet 5cm x 5cm in size is coated with GLASS MOLECULE. After it air-dries, the pre-washed contact angle is measured. 3. Method of analysis: 2μL of water is dropped on the sample. The contact angle at which the droplet touches the surface of the sample is measured using the FTA-100. This procedure is done at five different points on each sample and the average is taken. 4. The wash test is done according to the experiment setup regulated by ASTM D2486. The sample secured on the machine counter where the sponge, moistened with neutral soap, conducts the washing process. Each wipe to and forth counts as one time, and the surface is washed 1,000 times. Upon completion, the sample is removed from the machine, rinsed with water, air-dried, and the contact angle is measured again.

Test against Acidity/Alkalinity 1. Foreword: The purpose of this report is to test and state the effects of acid or alkaline on GLASS MOLECULE. Samples are soaked for one day in strong acid, weak acid, strong alkaline, weak alkaline, or tap water for one full day. The contact angle of each is measured to examine water repellency. 2. Processing and preparation of samples Metal sheets 5cm x 5cm in size are coated with GLASS MOLECULE. After they air-dry, the pre-soak contact angle is measured.
3. Method of analysis: 2μL of water is dropped on each sample. The contact angle at which the droplet touches the surface of the sample is measured using the FTA-100. This procedure is done at five different points on each sample and the average is taken. The following five solutions are prepared: A. Strong acid solution – 1N concentrated hydrochloric acid (pH<1) B. Weak acid solution – 0.1N acetic acid (pH = 4.0) C. Weak alkaline solution – 0.1N bicarbonate (pH = 9.0) D. Appendix 1 Method for testing the nano characteristics of nano vehicle wax The nano structure formed by applying the wax onto the vehicle paint surface shall be analyzed by scanning electron microscopy. 1. Equipment See ISO 16700:2004 (E): Microbeam Analysis Scanning Electron Microscopy - Guidelines for Calibrating Image Magnification for the requirements on the microscopy. 2. Preparing the testing piece The test piece is a piece of painted sheet in the size of 1cm x 1cm and treated by base, color and surface coating (clear coat). Directly apply the vehicle wash wax onto the test piece for testing; attach the test piece flatly on the fixer of the scanning electron microscopy; see ISO 16700:2004 (E) for details on preparing the test piece. Adjust the magnification rate appropriately to observe the dimensions of the nano structures formed on the surface of waxed test piece. (In the case below, the magnification rate is 50,000X).
3. The principles behind the test The electron microscopy provides the characteristics of the nano materials such as the dimensions, distribution and shape on the basis of the signals produced by the effect between the electron and substance. Compared with other methods, in addition to the direct measurement of the dimensions, the biggest advantage of microscopy lies in that the captured images can be used to tell the in what shape the powder is and it can also be used on materials with dimensions ranging from nanometers to microns. 4. Precautions during the test 4.1 The test is a dry test, and do not dip the test piece into solutons. 4.2 The system must be extracted to vacuum pressure and anything that can easily contaminate the vacuum chamber must be dealt with. 4.3 The testing equipment must be first validated with traceable standard test piece to ensure its accuracy. 4.4 The test piece may be gold plated if necessary to improve its readability in the system.
5. How to present the test results The test report shall comprise the following: 5.1 Test date/place/instrument model number 5.2 Source of the test piece or the manufacturer 5.3 Treatment conditions before waxing the test piece 5.4 The hydrophobic structures in the product specifications must appear and at least one dimension must be below 100 nm on average, as shown in Figure A. Treating the test piece Directly apply the nano vehicle wax on the test piece and polish it evenly as waxing a vehicle. 4. Test method Apply a drop of 50 uL volume by a syringe onto the test plate, adjust the angle for zero degree and record the angle when the drop begins to slide. The water sliding degree may be read as precisely as 1 degree. 5. How to present the test results: The test report should comprise: 5.1 Test date/place 5.2 Source and manufacturer of the painted test piece. 5.3 Treatment conditions before waxing the test piece 5.4 Average sliding angle value after the surface is waxed.
Appendix 4 Method for testing remaining water drops 1. Device and equipment Use the device for testing sliding water drops shown in appendix 3 as the reference; however, above the platform there must be a water storage cup, from which water can drop. 2. Preparing the test piece The test piece is a white painted plate in the size of 25cm x 50cm and treated with base, color and surface coating (clear coat). The test piece can form a sliding pathway because one side of the test piece is about 80 cm longer than the other side. 3. Treating the test piece Directly apply the nano vehicle wax on the test piece and polish it evenly as waxing a vehicle. 4. Test method The sloping angle of the testing plate is fixed at 30 degrees. Add 1 ml ink into 1 L water. Adjust the flow adjustment valve on the cup so that the water can drop onto the plate at the flow rate of 50 mL/min; after about half an hour, calculate the percentage of lattices with remaining water drops in transparent acrylic plate with one thousand lattices, as shown in the picture below . Obtain the mean by repeating the test for three times.

LV RINSE Leather & Vinyl Cleaner is a blend of selected, non-alkaline cleaning agents designed to clean leather safely and thoroughly without the harshness or potentially damaging effects of saddle soaps, which are alkaline. The foaming action loosens and suspends the dirt so that it can be easily rinsed away without leaving any deposits or impediments. Why is oil repellency important? At one time or another our carpet or fabrics come in direct contact with oils, whether it’s oil from our shoes, cooking oil from our stoves, or body oil from our skin. NANOSKIN FABRIC is formulated to repel oil helping to keep the fabric cleaner for a longer period of time. We believe, as some industry and university studies indicate that silicone treatments can cause the fabric or carpet to re-soil at a much faster rate. Why is UV absorber important? As you can see when the wave lengths reach the point that they become visible light (around 380). The absorbers do not modify (absorb) them or it would cause the light to be a different color. It is very important not to block the light or the colors of the carpet / fabric or it would appear different then its intended color. For example, instead of a sofa looking green it may in fact look light blue.

This test was run with a 1% solution of FABRIC with UV absorber. The reason we could not run it with 100% product is because it absorbed so much that it would be off the top of the chart and you wouldn't be able to see anything but a flat line across the top of the chart.

LIQUID IRON Wrinkle Release is a water-based fabric treatment that is effective in reducing wrinkles in most fabrics. This pH neutral, color safe treatment can be sprayed on casual clothes for hang drying to reduce wrinkles, or can be applied during ironing to give clothing a pressed appearance without being stiffened by starch. Directions: Use before or after drying. Water sensitive fabrics (such as silk or rayon) should be tested first in an inconspicuous area. To effect less wrinkling on fabrics in the drying cycle, spray fabrics as they are transferred from the washer.
