or nearly a century, a railroad line ran across Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, zigzagging the Lamoille River and passing through woods, farmlands and villages. Constructed in 1877 by the St. Johnsbury & Lake Champlain Railroad Company, it carried passenger trains and freight cars hauling timber, limestone, talc and asbestos from the state’s northern forests and quarries. Today, visitors won’t hear the persistent chugging or faraway whistle of an approaching train, but they can travel the same picturesque route. The railroad’s passenger service ceased in 1956, and the state acquired the right of way in 1973. In 1997, the Vermont Association of Snow Travelers began using it as a snowmobile trail, and in 2006 the state pulled up the tracks and began converting it into a four-season, multiuse trail. A recently completed 17-mile segment of bike path between Morrisville and Cambridge has made the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail a new tourist destination. When the trail is finally completed, it will be a contiguous, 93-mile recreational corridor spanning the width of Vermont — the longest rail trail in New England. Visitors to Burlington need drive only 45 minutes to “climb aboard” the rail trail.

Shortly before noon, I mounted my bike in Oxbow Park in Morrisville, a mere 15-minute drive from downtown Stowe, and headed toward the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail. Nearly all my previous visits to this Northeast Kingdom town had been rest stops en route to somewhere else. Now, for me and countless others, it’s the starting point for two-wheeled adventures. Before heading out, I had stopped at Chuck’s Bikes, one of two bicycle shops in Morrisville — the other is Power Play Sports — to get intel on the trip. Owner Hank Glowiak had directed me to the trailhead on Portland Street. One advantage of biking the rail trail is its minimal number of road crossings. Pedaling west, the trail crosses an old train trestle, then a modern bike-and-pedestrian bridge spanning Route 100. Abutting the trail in Morrisville is Lost Nation

En 1997, la Vermont Association of Snow Travelers a commencé à utiliser le chemin de fer comme sentier de motoneige, puis en 2006, l’État a entrepris de retirer les rails et de transformer le chemin en un sentier multifonctionnel quatre saisons. Un tronçon de 27 kilomètres entre Morrisville et Cambridge a récemment été converti en piste cyclable, faisant du Lamoille Valley Rail Trail une nouvelle destination touristique. Une fois terminé, le sentier formera un corridor récréatif continu de 150 kilomètres traversant le Vermont d’est en ouest, soit le plus long sentier ferroviaire de Nouvelle-Angleterre, situé à seulement 45 minutes en voiture de Burlington. Montez à bord!

Peu avant midi, j’ai enfourché mon vélo à Oxbow Park dans la municipalité de Morrisville, située à 15 minutes de route du centreville de Stowe, en direction du Lamoille Valley Rail Trail. Jusqu’ici, presque toutes mes visites dans cette ville du Northeast Kingdom avaient été une simple halte en route vers une autre ville. Désormais, pour moi comme pour bien d’autres, c’est le point de départ de belles aventures à vélo. Avant de partir, je me suis arrêté chez Chuck’s Bikes – l’une des deux boutiques de vélo à Morrisville avec Power Play Sports – pour me renseigner sur l’itinéraire. Le propriétaire, Hank Glowiak, m’a indiqué le point de départ du sentier situé sur Portland Street. L’un des avantages de parcourir cet ancien chemin de fer à vélo est que l’on croise très peu de routes. Vers l’ouest, le sentier passe par un ancien pont ferroviaire, puis par un pont plus moderne pour

Brewing, which features an outdoor beer garden and indoor restaurant and tasting room. Much of its business comes from trail users. West of Morrisville, I spotted a signpost directing travelers to gas (for snowmobiles), food, lodging and bike repairs. VAST, which manages the trail, has installed historic and directional markers along its route, including one in Jeffersonville where three Vermont railroad workers were killed in 1949. Such reminders of the rail trail’s industrial past enhance rather than mar the experience. Entering Hyde Park, the trail follows a gentle bend in the Lamoille River, with stunning views of the mountains. Looking down the steep embankment, one can still make out the rusting remains of a decades-old train derailment. From Hyde Park, the trail wends through woods and gradually descends to the valley floor, crossing several long, flat stretches of farmland where it’s common to encounter steady winds. Emerging from the flatlands, the trail climbs back into the trees and crosses a scenic trestle bridge over the Lamoille River. About half a mile beyond, riders can look for a short path just north of the trail leading to Dog’s Head Falls in Johnson. I’d been forewarned about the alluring but treacherous currents, which have claimed the lives of several swimmers over the years. Nevertheless, the river’s edge offers plenty of shady spots suitable for picnicking. In Johnson, Jim and Yva Rose operate Lamoille Valley Bike Tours, which rents and sells electric bicycles at trailheads. For tourists, e-bikes make sense, Jim noted: Serious cyclists can extend their range, while lessable-bodied riders can tackle the otherwise daunting 17 miles between Morrisville and Cambridge. The electric two-wheelers, state-approved on this trail, can reach top speeds of 20 miles per hour or be ridden like conventional bikes. Continuing west toward Jeffersonville, I savored the full-sensory experience of riding the rail trail — not just its sights and sounds but also its smells: the earthy, metallic odor of gravel mining; the fecund pungency of freshly fertilized fields. The trail is less a trip into Vermont’s industrial past than a tour of its still-working landscape. In Jeffersonville, I visited Bootlegger Bikes, which sells and services bikes and hybrids less than a mile from the trailhead. Named for the area’s colonial-era history of smuggling — as is the award-winning Smugglers’ Notch Distillery just down the street — the biz also staffs a trailside bike rental and repair station daily through October. Next, I refueled at the Farm Store, a local green grocer offering free Wi-Fi and refreshments such as Queen City Kombucha, salads from Vermont Fresh Pasta and breads from Slowfire Bakery. The store has become a de facto meeting spot for riders going to the Jeffersonville Farmers and Artisan Market, held Wednesday evenings through the fall at the end of Old Main Street. The rail trail will continue to grow in the coming years with completion of a planned connector to Sheldon Junction, where two now-defunct railroad lines once converged. There, cyclists will be able to pick up the 26.4-mile Missisquoi Valley Rail Trail running between St. Albans and Richford. That connection will open huge cross-border cycling opportunities, including routes to and from Montréal. “There’s a ton of rail trail in Québec,” said Matt Niklaus, owner of Bootlegger Bikes. “And it’d be great to see people able to cross the border on rail trails someday.”

La clientèle est formée en grande partie d’utilisateurs du sentier. À l’ouest de Morrisville, j’ai aperçu un panneau indiquant aux visiteurs où trouver de l’essence (pour les motoneigistes), manger, se loger et faire réparer son vélo. La Vermont Association of Snow Travelers, responsable du sentier, a installé des repères historiques et directionnels le long du parcours, notamment à Jeffersonville où trois cheminots vermontois ont perdu la vie en 1949. Loin d’assombrir la journée, ces bribes du passé industriel du chemin de fer enrichissent l’expérience. À la hauteur de Hyde Park, le sentier suit un méandre de la rivière Lamoille et offre une vue imprenable sur les montagnes. En contrebas du remblai escarpé, on devine encore les restes rouillés d’un train ayant déraillé à cet endroit il y a plusieurs décennies. Après Hyde Park, le sentier serpente à travers les bois et descend progressivement jusqu’au fond de la vallée, traversant plusieurs longues étendues de terres agricoles souvent balayées par les vents. Au bout de ces plaines, le sentier remonte vers la forêt et traverse un magnifique pont sur chevalets qui enjambe la rivière Lamoille. Environ 800 mètres plus loin, du côté nord du chemin de fer, on trouve un court sentier menant aux chutes Dog’s Head Falls, à Johnson. La prudence y est de mise, car ces eaux, aussi attrayantes que traîtresses, ont coûté la vie à plusieurs baigneurs au fil des ans. Néanmoins, le bord de la rivière offre de nombreux endroits ombragés pour pique-niquer. À Johnson, Jim et Yva Rose, propriétaires de Lamoille Valley Bike Tours, offrent la location et l’achat de vélos électriques aux points d’entrée du sentier. Jim m’a d’ailleurs expliqué que les vélos électriques sont un choix idéal pour les touristes : les cyclistes d’expérience peuvent parcourir plus de kilomètres, tandis que les personnes moins en forme peuvent couvrir plus facilement les 27 kilomètres entre Morrisville et Cambridge. Autorisés par l’État sur le sentier, ces montures électriques peuvent atteindre une vitesse de 32 km/h, ou être utilisées comme un vélo ordinaire. L’entreprise offre également des tours guidés et autonomes, dont le Bike & Brew Tour, qui comprend des arrêts aux microbrasseries Rock Art Brewery, Ten Bends Beer et Lost Nation Brewing, le Teahouse Tour, qui vous fait découvrir la maison de thé de style européen Fledermaus avec vue sur Johnson, et le Pedal Paddle Tour, qui allie vélo et canot sur la rivière Lamoille, en collaboration avec Vermont Canoe & Kayak. En continuant vers l’ouest en direction de Jeffersonville, tous mes sens se sont retrouvés en éveil devant les paysages, les sons, mais aussi les odeurs du parcours, comme l’odeur terreuse et métallique des carrières de gravier ou l’âcreté des champs fraîchement fertilisés. Le sentier se veut davantage une fenêtre sur les paysages agricoles vermontois qu’un voyage dans le passé industriel de l’État. À Jeffersonville, je me suis arrêté chez Bootlegger Bikes, qui vend et répare des vélos, hybrides et autres, à un peu plus d’un kilomètre de l’entrée du sentier. Tout comme Smugglers’ Notch Distillery, distillerie primée située à deux pas, l’entreprise doit son nom aux contrebandiers de l’époque de la prohibition. Elle exploite aussi un atelier de location et de réparation de vélos aux abords du sentier qui est ouvert chaque jour jusqu’en octobre. Ensuite, j’ai refait le plein d’énergie au Farm Store, épicerie écologique locale qui offre le Wi-Fi gratuit, des rafraîchissements comme le kombucha Queen City, des salades de Vermont Fresh Pasta et des pains de la boulangerie Slowfire. L’endroit est devenu un lieu de rencontre incontournable en chemin vers le Jeffersonville Farmers and Artisan Market, qui se tient les mercredis soirs jusqu’en automne, au bout de Old Main Street. De nouveaux tronçons du sentier ouvriront dans les prochaines années, notamment avec l’ajout d’une jonction à Sheldon Junction, où deux lignes de chemin de fer convergeaient jadis. Cela permettra aux cyclistes d’emprunter le Missisquoi Valley Rail Trail, autre sentier ferroviaire de 42,5 kilomètres qui relie St. Albans et Richford. Cette liaison favorisera grandement le cyclisme transfrontalier, y compris à destination et en provenance de Montréal. « Il y a une tonne de sentiers ferroviaires au Québec, m’a dit Matt Niklaus, propriétaire de Bootlegger Bikes. wenty minutes south of Burlington, along Route 7, sits Shelburne Vineyard, a 4.5-acre farm, winery and tasting room just a short walk from the Shelburne Museum. Oenophiles can tour the winemaking operation, relax on an outdoor patio and sample about a dozen wines, many of them award-winning. On the first Thursday of each month, Shelburne Vineyard (shelburnevineyard.com) hosts free concerts and local food vendors. On the third Tuesday of each month, it holds Wine & Story, a free storytelling event in the style of “The Moth Radio Hour.” And, for several weeks in spring and fall, visitors can meet the sheep that graze amid the vines. Ordinarily, the pairing of lamb with wine has a very different meaning to Ethan Joseph, Shelburne Vineyard’s head winemaker and vineyard manager. But since November 2018, he has been working with a local shepherd and researchers from the nearby University of Vermont on a small, federally funded project to study the benefits of integrating sheep into the vineyard. Their goal: to better understand what impact the practice will have on the grapes, wine, soil, sheep and environment, as well as on the vineyard’s and shepherd’s bottom lines. Researchers also want to learn whether other Vermont vineyards and food producers could benefit from similar practices.

On a recent sunny afternoon, a flock of five Suffolk sheep huddled along the eastern edge of the vineyard, too timid to approach a newly opened gap in their electric fence. Where the sheep presently stood, the vegetation was grazed clean to the ground. On the opposite side of the fence, however, the untouched grass stood taller than the sheep’s withers. With gentle prodding from shepherd Mike Kirk, of Greylaine Farm in Charlotte, the sheep overcame their skittishness and made a beeline into the tall grass. Inside their new pen, the ewes scurried about eagerly, gobbling white clover, dandelions and Kentucky bluegrass. Above the sheep’s heads, the grapevines remained well beyond their reach. “This basically looks like we mowed last week,” observed Joseph, scanning the ground that the sheep had shorn clean in just four days. “We’re already talking about how to scale this up and take it vineyard-wide next year.” This unusual collaboration began with an adorable photo of a lamb. In October 2018, Meredith Niles, an assistant professor in UVM’s food systems program, was in New Zealand conducting research. On her first day there, she tweeted a photo of herself holding a new lamb on a farm in Marlborough, a renowned

wine-growing region where grazing sheep amid vineyards is commonplace. Joseph and Kirk saw the photo, contacted Niles and, within weeks, the three had submitted a grant application to the U.S. Department of Agriculture to study the use of sheep in their own grape-growing operation. Why do vineyards in New Zealand, the world’s 15th-largest wine producer, routinely keep sheep around, when almost none in the U.S. do? The short answer, Niles explained, is because sheep are virtually everywhere in New Zealand, a country of 4.5 million people and 27 million sheep. By contrast, the U.S. has only 500,000 sheep. “I had seen sheep in [New Zealand] vineyards

for years but hadn’t thought much about it,” Niles explained. “And then I started to realize, no one else had thought much about it, either.” As Niles discovered through her research, the relationship is symbiotic. The farmers grazing their sheep in the vineyards don’t need to spend money on feed. The vineyards that allow grazing use fewer herbicides and mow less frequently, saving them money and labor. Though Joseph doesn’t use herbicides or fertilizers other than occasional compost, he expects the sheep will improve soil health by aerating and fertilizing it. Apart from Shelburne Vineyard, Niles knows of no other vineyard in Vermont that currently uses sheep; and aside from a few in New York’s Finger Lakes region and some on the West Coast, virtually none are doing it elsewhere in the U.S., either. Kirk and Joseph see this project as mutually beneficial because it builds a relationship between two Vermont food producers and piques consumers’ curiosity. “Wine often gets overlooked as an agricultural product, mainly because people are used to larger-scale [production], like grocery store wine,” said Joseph. He has about 25 acres under vine at four locations, producing 5,000 to 6,000 cases of wine annually. “This is a good example of how two different agricultural businesses can come together.” Kirk agrees. Greylaine Farm, which raises sheep and pigs for meat, gets very little public exposure. As he put it, “We’re on a dead-end dirt road in Charlotte. No one sees our sheep unless they’re flying over our land.” That’s changing. This fall, sheep and visitors alike will be flocking to the vineyard. le pays compte 4,5 millions d’habitants et 27 millions de moutons. Last year, the National Center for Arts Research listed Burlington among the top 10 “arts-vibrant medium communities” in America — notable for making the arts “integral” to the city’s development, urban design and livability. It’s true that Burlington brims with innovative and artsy types, and the most concentrated cluster of creativity is in its South End. Historically comprising the city’s industrial corridor, the big factories and mills where products from cereal to steel once were made now house art galleries and studios, cafés and craft beverage purveyors. Generator, a city-supported maker space and incubator for artists and technology startups, also resides in the South End. Fall is one of the best times to explore the area: The annual South End Art Hop celebrates the neighborhood’s ingenuity September 6 through 8 this year. During the threeday block party, artists open their studios to the public and visitors teem into the streets to enjoy food truck fare, outdoor exhibits and festivities, including a Saturday-night fashion show featuring local designers. Can’t make Art Hop? It’s easy to hop around on your own. It might make sense to organize a South End visit geographically, exploring sections along Pine Street from Maple Street south to Flynn Avenue. But we encourage visitors to let their senses guide them and enjoy the sights, sounds and flavors of the whole district.

Handcrafted and artistic works are nearly everywhere in the South End. Artist studios, galleries and exhibit spaces are bundled into several buildings along Pine Street, particularly around the Soda Plant, a former ginger ale bottling facility. Among other small businesses, it’s home to Soapbox Arts and the S.P.A.C.E. Gallery; the latter stands for Soda Plant Artist Collective Environment and hosts new exhibits every month. To the south, Flynndog Gallery has rotating exhibits at 208 Flynn Avenue, where you can also stop for a pick-me-up at Nomad Coffee. The South End champions the quirky, offbeat and original — and Flynn Ave is home to one of Burlington’s oddest oddities: the so-called World’s Tallest Filing Cabinet. It’s a stack of filing cabinets standing 50 feet high amid trees and tall grass — not exactly the Washington Monument, but a novelty worth witnessing and taking selfies next to. Looking to bring home a souvenir? There are almost as many destinations for the antiques enthusiast as the art lover. Start at Barge Canal Market to find that funky retro chair or ’50s-era cocktail glass. Then head to Vintage Inspired Lifestyle Marketplace for farmhousestyle décor. For something brand-new, try Thirty-odd, which features handcrafted goods by Vermont artisans, or Lunaroma, an aromatherapy company selling soap and body products.

Touring the South End, you’ll no doubt work up an appetite. On Saturdays through October, don’t miss the outdoor Burlington Farmers Market. Nearly 100 vendors serve up produce, cheeses and prepared foods, and there’s no better place to meet the locals. Another unique lunch experience: Four Corners of the Earth. The deli incorporates global flavors and ingredients into sandwiches such as the Egyptian Eggplant, Tibetan Tofu and Russian Salmon. For fuller meals from brunch to dinner, head to the Great Northern for everything from hamburgers to housemade gnocchi. Grilled octopus The big fireplace at the Great Northern provides a cozy spot to warm up on a chilly day. Next door, tour the Lake Champlain Chocolates factory and sample confections emphasizing organic, fair trade and local ingredients — including its own homemade ice cream. Thirsty yet? Over the last two years, the Soda Plant has been bringing back its beverage bona fides. It now contains the processing and tasting spaces of Brio Coffeeworks, Tomgirl Juice and CO Cellars — a collaboration of Shacksbury Cider and ZAFA Wines. A fun “tasting” (or, really, sniffing) at Alice & the Magician, which specializes in scented mists such as Autumn Bonfire and Chocolate Birthday Cake to enhance cocktails, demonstrates how 90 percent of flavor comes from aroma. Citizen Cider is a block away, allowing apple-leaning drinkers to sample selections not otherwise found on tap or in cans. And beer lovers are never left out in Burlington. In the South End alone, they can tour and taste at Queen City, Zero Gravity and Switchback breweries.

ArtsRiot is a linchpin of the South End’s modern cultural renaissance. In an early 20th-century brush factory warehouse, the restaurant and event space is on a mission to “destroy apathy.” In addition to kimchi bowls and hot chicken sandwiches, it serves up some of Burlington’s best musical entertainment. Head over in the late evening to dance or sway the night away. The club books up-and-coming and more established folk, indie and rock bands; you’ll find hot local groups as well as nationally touring acts such as Damien Jurado and Dustbowl Revival. The venue is also home to community discussions, film screenings, storytelling events, poetry slams and trivia nights. Visiting in the warmer months? Drop by ArtsRiot’s Truck Stop, taking place on Friday evenings from May through August. About two dozen food and drink vendors park behind the restaurant, luring as many as 1,600 patrons a week. There’s free music, too.

While you’ll certainly stretch your legs wandering around the South End, the neighborhood offers plenty of other opportunities for getting physical. Start the day with some poses at Evolution Physical Therapy + Yoga; it welcomes drop-in students for classes. You can also try your hand and footing on the indoor rock walls at Petra Cliffs Climbing Center & Mountaineering School, which offers day passes. But perhaps nothing beats putting together a picnic meal Petra Cliffs at City Market, Onion River Co-op on Flynn Avenue and heading down the street to Oakledge Park along Lake Champlain. In addition to a sandy beach where you can put your feet in the water, the park has a playground, courts for bocce, basketball and tennis, and a handicap-accessible tree house. It’s the perfect place to relax after a busy day of exploring. Passengers disembarking the Lake Champlain Ferry are regularly treated to some of the most dynamic art in Vermont. That’s thanks to the annual Above the Radar graffiti festival, during which dozens of artists from New England and beyond cover a 260-foot wall by the ferry dock in this unique style of urban art. Local artist group Anthill Collective invites spectators to enjoy food trucks, dancing and music while watching a new mural come together this September. The collective’s goal? “To show the public that graffiti and aerosol art are legitimate modern art forms and that, furthermore, it can be used as a medium for social change. This event serves as a window into an otherwise misunderstood lifestyle.”

Every September since 2006, the country’s best glassblowers have descended upon Burlington for the Bern Gallery’s annual Pipe Classic competition. Located on Main Street, the upscale smoke shop, hookah bar and glass school challenges these artists to complete a functional pipe in just 12 hours — a process that might typically take days or weeks for the large, sophisticated works being produced. This year, a dozen esteemed participants — with names like Cap’n Crunk, Doshworld and LaceFace — race against the clock and each other. Spectators can get in on the action by watching them work — and, if so inspired, return at a later date for their own lesson with the gallery’s resident glassblowers, Dr. Whitestone and Tito Bern.

here’s something about fall air that makes Vermonters think of cider. OK, Vermonters think of cider pretty much yearround — but as apple season sets in, they have the perfect excuse to reach for a glass of something sweet and tangy. It comes as no surprise that Citizen Cider cofounder Kris Nelson loves fall. A former wine salesman, he and friends Justin Heilenbach and Bryan Holmes founded the hard cider company in 2011, sourcing all their ingredients from orchards across Vermont and New York. “As a business that relies on a harvested product in the fall, it’s especially a meaningful time for us,” Nelson says. “For us to have cider be the focus at that time of year, it’s pretty awesome.” Their cider is available at Citizen Cider’s tasting room on Burlington’s Pine Street, but you can also get it immediately upon flying into town at the Burlington International Airport’s Skinny Pancake restaurant, where it’s the perfect thing to wash down a savory crêpe. Nelson lives in Ferrisburgh with his wife and daughter. Read on for his tips for enjoying the season. Describe your ideal fall Saturday in Vermont. Honestly, there are so many wonderful, fun things to do in the fall. I think that SIPtemberfest is always a blast on a nice day up in Mad River Glen. Oktoberfest on the Burlington waterfront is also pretty

L’Oktoberfest au bord de l’eau à Burlington est aussi super. Le FallFest [du Smuglers’ Notch Resort] propose des parties de disque-golf et tout plein d’autres activités absolument géniales. Le 28 septembre, l’Association des producteurs de cidre du Vermont organise un événement à Cold Hollow Cider Mill, à Waterbury. Les amateurs pourront goûter à des cidres produits un peu partout dans l’État, profiter de l’ambiance et manger des beignes au cidre. Le 5 octobre, Citizen Cider organise aussi le Ciderfest dans ses installations de Flynn Avenue. C’est un événement d’automne un peu plus

great. The FallFest [at Smugglers’ Notch Resort] is awesome. It’s disc golf and a whole bunch of other crazy activities. The Vermont Cider Makers Association is holding an event at Cold Hollow Cider Mill in Waterbury on September 28. People will be able to taste ciders from all over the state, hang out, eat cider doughnuts. Ever since Citizen Cider started pressing on Flynn Avenue, we’ve had our Ciderfest in that space. So it’s kind of a more urban fall fest. And that’s our little festival that we really get behind, on October 5. What orchards should folks visit? Happy Valley in Middlebury is incredible. And also Shelburne Orchards is such an amazing scene. Every weekend they have some kind of crazy, fun activity going on. They’ve done a great job there to bring people in and offer more than just an apple-picking experience. Just taking in that crisp, warm kind of air and picking apples and eating pie — I think that’s my favorite thing to do. I love it. What are the best driving routes to see rural Vermont and avoid the leaf-peeping crowds? Driving around and seeing the leaves changing is so worth it. Setting yourself up with a weekend drive and picking out a spot to have dinner is pretty fantastic. It’s cliché, but it’s wonderful. Typically, the leaves changing up by Jay are going to be a week or so behind what’s going on in Bennington. Some places will be remarkably ahead. You can make a loop that basically goes around Jay, between Enosburgh and Burke. I also love to go on the Huntington Road, from Richmond to Huntington. And then take that down to Route 17, which goes through the [Appalachian] Gap back over into the Mad River Valley. It’s pretty beautiful up there, and that’s a nice spot to be as fall wanes. I’ve caught first snowfall right there. What are your favorite places to eat and drink as the weather cools off? There are so many amazing places. In my mind, ArtsRiot is more of a winter spot for me. I like going in there. I can’t say Hen of the Wood, because everybody goes to Hen of the Wood all the time and knows it’s amazing. But it is kind of amazing. Out of town, I love Bar Antidote in Vergennes and Worthy Burger down in South Royalton. And Black Krim Tavern in Randolph. The husband and wife own a farm and a restaurant. When fall’s setting in, everything’s coming in from the field. They’re the best. I absolutely love what they’re doing down there. It’s probably one of my favorite restaurants in Vermont. 34 BTVMAGAZINE.COM

C’est cliché, mais c’est merveilleux. Habituellement, le changement des couleurs près de Jay Peak s’amorce environ une semaine plus tard qu’à Bennington.
