elcome to our last issue of 2018. We must say this was a wonderful year full of exciting editorials and colorful hues. We must apologize for the late release this month. I have been extremely busy on my end securing assets that will further benefit our overall brand and publication over the following years, and it has been taking a toll on me physically. We strive to release each issue before day 7 of each new month but it was extended, nevertheless, we still accomplished what we set out to do, and that's to release another awesome issue to end the year strong. This issue we will be sitting down with a very creative retoucher by the name of Pratik Naik, who started SolsticeRetouch.com. He will be interviewed by Yinsey Wang, one of our new contributing writers. I would like to take the time out to thank every contributor who submitted to us over the year and everyone on their team that helped bring their vision to life, from Photographers to Wardrobe Stylist, Creative Directors, Makeup Artist, Hair Stylist, & Assistants. It's a beautiful feeling receiving emails from all around the world stating that it is a dream to be accepted inside one of our issues and that our platform is loved and followed daily for inspiration and motivation. This sort of support really pushes us to be the best at what we do. Our 2019 themes will be out soon, sorry for the delay, once again, we have been extremely busy laying foundations for a stronger brand. We will post an announcement on our site and on social media once we've completed our themes for next year. We encourage anyone who wants to submit too shoot and submit early. We are pushing real hard to have these issues on stands by next year. So moving forward there will be more celebrity features, interviews, inside content, and on-line features. Thanks for being apart of what we have established. Enjoy the issue. Thank you. -Editor

Rocio Frausto -Fashion for Conservation spotlighted the Amazon Rainforest, the largest biodiversity Hotspot on the planet. How has your cultural heritage (India) shaped your aesthetic/contextual approach to this new collection for London Fashion Week? Kalikas Armour -I am a second generation British Indian. This has meant that I have grown up with a complete combination and amalgamation of cultures, the East and the West. As a child I was fascinated with the mythological stories and representations of gods and deities. Concepts of feminine power and divinity. I am Influenced by the symbolism, intricacy of ritualistic practice with a deeper scientific concepts, the richness of the heritage, richness of color, gold, details, elegance ,textures of luxurious fabrics embellishments, jewels and making statements. The Magestic Mystics collection began with this paragraph conceived from thorough research of the worlds most remotest tribes residing in rainforests. I apply these juxtapositions in my creations with the underlying principles of opulence, decadence and showmanship and ritualistic adornment with a level of modernity. Rocio Frausto -What role will wildlife preservation continue to have for future generations? (Fashion Designers & Fashion Industry) Kalikas Armour -Ultimately the goal would have to have total ban on use of fur, exotic skins, leathers and be totally sustainable. I believe this will happen but will take a long time, firstly it has be driven by education and informing the consumer to change their desires and to change notions of the old signifiers of status, weatlth , power. On an aesthetic level there has be alternatives that can achieve the same result in quality, touch and feel. On both accounts there are fantastic things happening with pro active charities as FFC and the Whitley fund for Nature, The Elephant family. I believe it’s a truly exciting time to experiment and create with a much bigger purpose than to dress and adorn ourselves. Creating elephant masks for the masquerade fundraising bash The Animal Ball, which was held at Clarence House, Prince Charles’ London home. Guests, including His Royal Highness himself, Paloma Faith and Christian Louboutin, Each room was dedicated to a different endangered animal, creating an event safari for the guests to explore raising more than £500,000 through tickets sales and an auction of animal sculptures. July 2013 I created 2 black Elephant masks, which were sold at Selfridges private shopping and then worn at ball. Designed and created 10 black bat masks, exhibited at the V&A London at the “Conservation for Couture” event which were sold as part of package including a private dinner at a top London restaurant before the jungle themed Animal Ball at Victoria house London. November 2016
Rocio Frausto -H ow have technological advances in the fashion industry shaped the design techniques for your new collection during London Fashion Week? Kalikas Armour -Kalikas Armour specialisies in bespoke, made to measure garments for both women and men. For the Magestic Mystics collection we utilized traditional couture techniques and focused on hand craftsmanship. This enabled us to personalize each creation and
retain its individuality through the embellishments and fabric combinations. The technological advances are immense and we are in Research and development phases and exploring these new avenues that we can incorporate with the handcrafted. The traditional with the contemporary, The concept of wearable’s and emotive clothing to produce truly unique and purposeful clothes.
Rocio Frausto -How much creative freedom do you in visual style of costumes under directors vision? Kalikas Armour -Complete freedom, I was given the endangered bats to highlight and free to interpret and express my creativity. I wanted to retain the visuals of the animals but make sure they are luxurious, stylish and of course wearable. Rocio Frausto -Your successful career has also transitioned designing collections for Pret a Porter Paris, wedding gowns and menswear. How do you nurture the relationship with fashion models during the fashion weeks? Kalikas Armour -Interesting question, depending on the concept of the collection, I aem seeking models that will portray my vision and tell the story as such and still showcase the clothes to their best… Maintaining that level of professionalism, though modeling, power

of social media means lots of people desiret to be models, some look great in pictures and editorials but cannot walk or have the height to properly emphasis the collection… I believe today that there so many different ways to promote and sell the collection and brand that the traditional rules of Model requirements are so very different and as long they align with the brand messages and values anything is possible. Rocio Frausto -What revolutionary changes in Pret a Porter, Bridal & Menswear have led to successful impact with fashion designers and models? Kalikas Armour -The fashion System and calendars have changed that the Lines are so blurred to rtw, couture..The whole new idea of buy straight from the catwalk has pushed manufacturing and fast fashion to the forefront..this has created an entirely new set of issues too!

Buenos Aires
t was a warm summer in Europe this year, quite unpredictable, I may say. September felt like warm June. Our steps, however, led us to discover different part of the world. Latin America – Buenos Aires, Mendoza and Santiago de Chile.
In this period of time, these countries are in early spring. Winter was almost gone. Only a few rainy days and here came the sun. When I was a little girl, I used to watch Latin American Telenovelas – Soap Operas with my grandmother. Grand stories about endless love, beautiful houses, hidden machinations, big gesticulations. I hadn’t imagined that I would be visiting Argentina one day. After long flight we finally arrived at Buenos Aires. The first person whom we met was a driver. He was a big guy with simple English. We were walking by the airport range and he suddenly started to scream. “Hey Carlo!”, dropped our luggage on the floor and with his arms wide open started hugging his friend like he didn’t see for ages. Big gestures and happiness.

streets hidden in the morning shadows. I remember it was Saturday morning and the city reminded us of ghost town. It was not easy to find an open café in such early hours. The first place where we took our coffee was very modern café. The furniture was designed in retro style. After wards we were ready to hit the city. We did not feel unsafe. People were friendly and polite. In the evening, we vent to the famous Peron Peron bar which reminded us of old times. Evita’s pictures were everywhere. The bartender was from Venezuela and he was not big fan of Peron, but he was supporting all his family. The other day we went to Recoleta to see the famous cemetery. It was not difficult to find Evita’s grave. Crowds were lining up to see the tomb. The soil was covered with flowers. You will find Recoleta in the historical part of the city, famous for its architecture. From the cemetery we moved to the old streets of Recoleta with stylish coffee place at every corner. Smalls stores are offering typical leather products, national flags and fur. One should bargain to get the best price. It is a national custom. Vendors try to increase the price – one should not give up haggling over. Do not feel uncomfortable, it is the way it is, be persistent.
Mendoza
It is a great experience to visit the modern part of the city, Puerto Madero. There you can see sleek skyscrapers, buildings of multinational corporations and expensive apartments. Moreover, you will stumble upon the famous bridge, Punte de la mujer, is unique by its architecture. What we loved the most was food. You can enjoy a large piece of beef, ribs and great wine. my grandmother whit whom I used to watch the shows. The country side resembled the one in the soap opera - ranches, people, farms with the horses and kids everywhere. Peace and quiet. A great place to be in order to clean your mind, to meditate and relax. Last part of Latin America which we visited was Chile which its capital, Santiago de Chile, a – city surrounded by mountains. You are constantly surrounded by them. It is a magnificent feeling. Santiago de Chile city reminded me a lot of Hong Kong, its modern part with skyscrapers. Its financial centre district with all kind of banks
Puerto Madero - Punte de la mujer I highly recommend Carniceria in Palermo. Famous Argentinian wine is in every region. One of the most famous regions is Mendoza. Mendoza is a place which reminded me Los Angles, with its sunny days. We were surrounded by pure nature. Sun, mountains, free air, green grass and us. Lujan province is one of the most beautiful places I have seen. We went to visit the famous restaurant 1884 from Francis Malmann which was quite an experience. You can see how they smoke meat on the fire and drink good wine from the chef ’s vineyards. Spring was omnipresent, and I felt like in my own telenovela and wanted to share this feeling with

Recoleta – cemetery is lining the way to the historical part of the city. The weather was not too friendly to us that time. It was mostly raining. The citizens of Santiago de Chile were in the midst of their celebrations – National holidays when people go to visit their relatives in the country side and the city stays empty. We found ourselves in this quite city with the rain falling down. We enjoyed it anyway. The other day we climbed to see the famous statue of Virgin Mary whit its amazing view on the city. The city is famous for their local artists who decorate the old town with their paintings. We joined the celebrations in one of the local market places. A lot of food, live music and wine. Many good memories. There came a time to say good bye to Latin America and back to Europe, where autumn already introduced itself. Windy autumn, which blew away all the beautiful and pure that summer and spring brought to us. It was all over. But what we saw and experienced cannot be taken away from us and will stay in our minds forever.
