IN THE KEYS
F Block 1939-1945
World War Two was the most horrific war in its time period. It had around 80,000,000 deaths and took the lives of many american soldiers. From the years 1941 to 1945 the Americans went to war with the Japanese and the Germans (nazi’s). During this time Berlin was getting heavily bombed but the Germans and the city got taken over in the year 1945. People that were living in Berlin would have 3 options, run away, get captured or if the were jewish they would be killed. If you ran away you would have to run from Berlin to Britain because Britain had not been taken over yet and had American soldiers helping out.

America had tried to remain neutral throughout World War Two, but when the bombing of Pearl Harbor happened that’s when America took part in the war. The relationship between America and Great Britain was strong. When America was neutral in the war Britain and France declared war on Germany, but when Germany defeated France in the summer of 1940 that’s when America decided to take action and join forces with Britain.

Some of the small hand-held weapons in the war are; pistols, automatic pistols/submachine guns, shotguns, rifles, flamethrowers, mines and grenades. The americans also used heavy weapons like tanks, other varieties of vehicles and aircraft such as the Curtiss P40 Warhawk,P-47 Thunderbolt and the F6F Hellcat. The Americans were running out of people to make the aircraft so they decided to recruit women into their workhouses and help with the production of the aircraft.
