Camp K is Alaska's longest running co-ed residential camp and has received accreditation from the American Camp Association for 46 consecutive years. Located in the lush Chugach National Forest, Camp K on Kenai Lake has a strong outdoor education component to their summer program, providing multiple opportunities for youth to gain knowledge and skill in the outdoor classroom. There are six

2. Andover, CT Channel 3 Kids Camp offers traditional camp activities that are designed to foster camaraderie and community among children who may be dealing with the stress of a deployed parent or other military family challenges. Experiencing camp among children of similar backgrounds provides a relaxing and supportive camp session for children of parents serving in the military. The activities that your child will have the opportunity to choose from are: arts & crafts, archery, digital media, martial arts, nature, performing arts, high and low ropes, woodworking, along with daily games, swimming and team building activities. Our 150 acre property offers the luxury of forested spaces with a central campus of key buildings.   

3. Inglis, FL The Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches Caruth Camp is nestled on 242 acres of old Florida. The primary focus is to provide a wholesome atmosphere and positive camping experience for boys and girls between the ages of 9 and 17. The camp also provides an opportunity for Deputy Sheriffs and other Law Enforcement Volunteers to interact with the youngsters and build positive, healthy relationships. Campers live in air conditioned cabins while learning how to share and get along within a group setting. Every day contains a healthy balance between work and play, providing a valuable lesson for maturing youth. Strong and devoted leadership is the key to a successful camping experience.   

4. Waialua, HI Located on the North Shore of O'ahu, Camp Erdman is the place to be during the summer. At Camp Erdman, kids unplug from their electronics and connect with themselves, each other, and their counselors who are great role models. We intentionally teach 21st century skills that help them succeed in college and the real world. Camp Erdman is much more than archery, the ropes courses and camp outs. It's a safe place for kids to discover who they are, improve skills, and develop independence. Our goal is to create a nurturing, yet challenging community where kids thrive.   

5. Hendersonville, NC Camp Bob is a traditional overnight camp located at Kanuga Conferences in the mountains of Western, North Carolina. Campers will come together to learn more about themselves and each other as they celebrate that "Kids Serve Too!"   

6. Parkton, NC Located in Parkton, NC, Rockfish Camp and Retreat Center's 486 acres provide a fun environment where campers can make new friends, challenge themselves, and just be kids. With activities like Archery, BB Guns, Paintball, Swimming, High Ropes, Zip Lining, Rock Climbing, Kayaking, and much more, there is never a dull moment at Rockfish.   

7. Angola, NY Pioneer Camp & Retreat Center is located just 25 miles from Buffalo, New York right on Lake Erie. Pioneer hosts many unique program offerings through its Waterfront, High and Low Ropes Adventure Courses, complete with zipline and free fall, endless activities and games, and 60 acres of woods.

8. Huntsville, TX With over 440 acres, Carolina Creek Christian Camps, located in Riverside, Texas, offers boating, zip lining, drama, and archery to name a few of our over 25+ activity sites. 9. Williamsburg, VA Since 1928, Jamestown 4-H Educational Center has provided youth and family programs to children and adults of all ages. We believe that today's campers are tomorrow's leaders. Our camper-centered programs are designed to challenge every child in a safe, fun-filled environment while creating friends and memories that may last a lifetime. 10. Ellensburg, WA Lazy F Camp and Retreat Center has partnered with the National Military Family Association for 10 summers and provided a great experience for kids in military families. Located about two hours east of Seattle in a canyon on the east side of the Cascades, Lazy F provides the summer camp experiences loved by many: archery, floating in the creek, crafts, hikes, campfires, games, and high challenge


course experiences. Our staff works hard to provide a close-knit community environment where campers feel comfortable trying new activities.   

11. High View, WV Camp Sandy Cove is located 25 minutes west of Winchester, VA in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Your child will be cared for by a staff of solid role models. Our ratio is better than 1 staff member for every 3 campers. While at camp your child will participate in activities that they choose from our list of 29 exciting choices, as well as involvement in crazy games and programs on our 187 acre property. Family Retreat Camps Operation Purple Family Retreats bring families from all uniformed services, including National Guard and Reserves, to beautiful outdoor locations to spend quality time reconnecting after a deployment, separation or during a time of transition. With other military families there to share the experience, it’s the perfect environment to meet and bond with others in the same phase of military life. Families take part in uniquely designed resiliency activities developed by The American Red Cross (ARC), and build memories through fun family oriented activities like hiking, canoeing, and even building bird houses! 1. Bainbridge Island, WA Are you a military family with kids in grades K-12? Have you recently moved or will you soon move to a new duty station? If you answered yes to both questions, this family retreat may be right for you! Embark on a family adventure through a three-day, two-night retreat in a 250-acre outdoor campus located on Bainbridge Island (just across Puget Sound from Downtown Seattle). Families will stay in heated lodges and spend their days exploring Bainbridge Island with professional outdoor educators. Leave with memories and pictures of sea lions, deer, majestic trees and treasured family time in the


outdoors. Besides the unique outdoor experiences, this retreat will also give guidance on educational standards and how to advocate for your child(ren) throughout their educational journey.  

Located next to the Pacific Ocean, YMCA Camp Surf offers the perfect setting to explore marine biology, understand natural resources and our impact on the environment. Families will spend their nights in rustic cabins along the beach, enjoy delicious meals and participate in a wide variety of fun and exciting camp programs, from archery to outdoor education and everything in between!  

3. Healing Adventures Camps Operation Purple Healing Adventures celebrates rediscovering family-fun and togetherness after an injury. This FREE three-day experience combines family-focused activities with outdoor exploration, like hiking and canoeing to encourage each family’s growth on their new journey post-injury. Our Association welcomes wounded, ill, injured, medically separated, or medically retired military families to reconnect at Healing Adventures. Families take part in uniquely designed resiliency building activities developed by the American Red Cross, and build memories through fun family oriented activities like hiking, canoeing, and even building bird houses! Camp Twin Lakes-Will-A-Way - Winder, GA Camp Twin Lakes-Will-A-Way is a 100 acre, fully accessible facility located in the middle of Fort Yargo State Park. Our adaptive equipment and specialized programs allow participants to take part in activities including horseback riding, biking, boating, swimming, high and low ropes, climbing wall, giant swing, and zip line. There will be background checked volunteers to personally assist families so that this experience will allow you the guidance to advocate for yourself, your children, and have a wonderful shared experience. Camp Twin Lakes is proud to give back to members of the armed forces and their families who have sacrificed for our country. From our 25 years of providing a therapeutic camping experience, we know that camp helps build friendships with others facing similar situations, and gives the family a new perspective to heal together.  

5. Camp Bob, Hendersonville, NC Camp Bob is located in beautiful Western North Carolina on 1400 acres of pristine property. Some of the activities that families will enjoy include guided nature hikes on beautiful trails; canoeing on a 24 acre lake; archery; high ropes; climbing; square dancing; campfires with s’mores and camp songs; and so much more. After a long day of fun and great meals, everyone will rest in their cabins at night and have more fun the next day.  

C. Camp Corral https://www.campcorral.org/camp-experience/camps/ Camp Corral, a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt, non-profit corporation, is a free, one-of-a-kind summer camp experience for children of wounded, ill, injured, or fallen military service members. Although any child of a military service member or veteran is eligible, registration priority is given to mission status children; those children of wounded, ill, injured, or fallen military service members. Camper Eligibility:  Any child from an active duty, guard, reserve, or veteran military family is eligible to apply; however, ‘mission status’ children are given registration priority; those who have a wounded, ill, injured, or fallen military service members or veteran parent. Camp Corral’s mission is to serve children of wounded, ill, injured, and fallen service members. We consider children who have a parent in one of these categories ‘mission status’. We define each category as follows: o Wounded – an injury (both visible and invisible) related to combat o Injury – any type of service related injury (both visible and invisible) not caused by combat o Ill – illness related to service (cancer, ALS, addiction)  Camp Corral is for children ages 8 to 15. To submit an application the child must be between the ages of 8-15 on the first day of the session. No exceptions will be made.  Grandchildren of military service members are eligible only if the service member or veteran grandparent(s) is the child’s is the legal guardian are grandchildren eligible to attend Camp Corral.  Children of veterans are eligible to attend.  At this time, Camp Corral does not have a counselor in training program. If your child is interested in joining the staff or leadership at one of our host camps we recommend that your child contact the camp directly.

D. Comfort Zone Camps - “Grieve. Heal. Grow.” Comfort Zone Camp is a nonprofit 501(c)3 bereavement organization that transforms the lives of children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, or primary caregiver. Our programs are free of charge and include confidence building activities and age-based support groups that break the emotional isolation grief often brings. Comfort Zone's programs are offered to children ages 5-25, and their families for the family programs. Held year-round across the country, our primary locations are California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Virginia (HQ).
