Role: Serves as link between Commander and the FRG

The Family Readiness Liaison (FRL)

• Unit Family Readiness Plan addresses the needs of the Soldiers and Families while addressing unit’s mission • Volunteers receive a position description and sign Volunteer Agreement • Newsletter and Webpage are reviewed and have approval from Commander

• In establishing and maintaining a unit FRG • By serving as a representative for unit’s Family Readiness Program • As communication link between commander and the FRG • By updating unit roster and providing updates to FRG Leaders • With Volunteer Recruitment and Management

Operational Role Assists the commander with oversight of Command’s Family Readiness Program  Liaison between the FRG and the Command to ensure FRG member issues are addressed and the Command is aware  Assist the Command in maintaining an active FRG  Assist the FRG in establishing a functional chain of concern in order to pass official information from command to FRG membership  Serve as the primary advisor to the FRG on all military matters  Coordinate with other agencies to support Commander’s Family Readiness Program Ensure Unit Family Readiness Plan addresses the needs of the Soldiers and Families while addressing unit’s mission UNCLASSIFIED / FOUO

Administrative Role Logistical Support  Ensure FRG Newsletter and Social Media sites are reviewed and approved by Commander  Coordinate with the FRG Leader regarding proposed activities and review the results  Ensure volunteers have work space IAW AR 608-1, App J

Administrative Support  Ensure Volunteers receive a position description and sign Volunteer Agreement  Ensure FRG rosters are up-to-date  Recommend and draft awards for volunteers  Track FRG issues UNCLASSIFIED / FOUO

The Family Readiness Liaison (FRL) Provide support to the FRG Leader  Assist with coordinating and scheduling briefings  Coordinate and review information for forwarding to FRG membership  Maintain communication link between Command and the FRG Leadership  Assist with immediate needs of FRG members by providing referral information and follow-up  Coordinate and maintain communication as a team with other FRLs, Senior Volunteer Advisors and FRG Leaders
