INNOVATION FOR TODAY’S NEED More than 60% of our life is spent seated
A n average person spends between 8 to 11 hours sitting
down in a day, making the chair perhaps the most indispensable furniture in our everyday lives. Although that translates to spending almost half of our day sitting on a chair, there are very few people who know that sitting actually puts a greater strain on our lower backs as compared to standing. The human structure is not created to sit down for long hours however today’s modern lifestyle often inevitably requires the majority of the global population to work in a seated position. Sitting puts strain on the spine and its associaed ligaments and over time it can lead to pain, deformity and chronic illnesses. Therefore, it is important to protect the spine and having a chair that sufficiently supports the back is an important step towards an optimal physical health. Recognizing the connection between the wellbeing of the employee and the level of productivity, there is a growing number of companies and homebuilders that are beginning to promote ergonomically designed tools, products, workstations, and living space to reduce the risk of back pain. A good chair is designed to support the critical curves of the spine by supporting the body to have the right sitting posture. Such chairs are said to have ergonomic features that are specifically designed with certain features like
