On a rainy old day, Stacy and Pedro hold separate umbrellas, although Stacy had the world’s most dull-colored umbrella with her magenta boots. Nobody would have ever believed what her wardrobe would’ve looked like. Pedro was pouncing up the sidewalks of Britlight Elementary School (aka the school Pedro and Stacy attended) talking faster and louder than the huge splashes of water falling aggressively onto their umbrellas. “And . . . um . . . some of the bricks were renewed, see right here, these few.” said Pedro, ignoring the loud splashes of rain hitting his umbrella, as if intending to rip it. “Cool.” said Stacy absentmindedly. “Oh, I need to get home now!” said Pedro suddenly, frantically checking his watch. “See you tomorrow!” shouted Pedro racing towards the deserted street. A car zoomed past Stacy like lightning. BAM! And suddenly, she noticed something was lying near the sidewalk and then—scarlet rain came drooling down near the sidewalk. Stacy gasped, not believing her eyes. Stacy ran towards the silhouette in the blurry rain. But her face turned into horror as she raced toward the content lying down. She figured what it was as she moved closer and closer . . . IT WAS PEDRO!! Not knowing what to do, she frantically took out her phone as that’s the only thing she can think about, but her trembling hands have caused it to slip out of her hands and slide towards the rain. Stacy grasped for it but too late it already slid through the pit. “Young lady, please do not worry, I have already called the ambulance.” called the voice of a woman. Stacy jolted up as if someone just jump-scared her. Then, an ambulance came rushing through the rain, splattering water everywhere. Medical workers came rushing out trying to carry Pedro onto the medical bed. “Stay behind, please.” said the woman entering the ambulance. Stacy was left behind as the ambulance drove toward the opposite direction. Stacy, standing there like a fool in the rain, she felt something weird in her heart. Odd pain was stabbing her heart. I should’ve paid more attention to Pedro, thought Stacy.
