BANDUNG THERMAL COMFORT ZONE

By comparing the bacterial growth temperature of fish, chicken, beef, and vegetables with the thermal comfort zone of people in Bandung, we can obtain the environmental conditions that can make people comfortable while inhibiting the growth of bacteria of different goods

According to the different hygienic conditions required by different goods, the layout of the goods partition is combined with the ventilation conditions of the site. The sanitary conditions required by fish are the highest, so the three layers with the best ventilation are followed by chicken, beef and green vegetables from top to bottom. The thermal comfort zone of the person is inserted between different goods.

ZEER-POT SYSTEM

A pot-in-pot refrigerator, clay pot cooler or zeer is an evaporative cooling refrigeration device which does not use electricity. It uses a porous outer clay pot containing an inner pot within which the food is placed. The evaporation of the outer liquid draws heat from the inner pot. The device can cool any substance, and requires only a flow of relatively dry air and a source of water.

Beginning in the 1950s, Guangzhou water residents, the Dan family, began to move ashore one after another. The research object of this case is Xinzhou Fishing Village located in Haizhu District, Guangzhou, which is the village formed by the Dan family after they moved ashore. As the last fishing village in Guangzhou, there are still some people in Xinzhou Fishing Village who still retain the tradition of fishing, so they also retain the tradition and culture of the Dan family. material space and festival customs. How to pass top-down The organic combination with the bottom-up allows the fishing village to respond to flood, economic and other issues, and brings inspiration to maintain the development of Guangzhou’s diversified space.

RESEARCH | Boat Evolution

Traditional Fish Boat: The deck at the bow is mainly used for labor production, the cabin is the bedroom and storage space, and the stern is the excretion place instead of the toilet, and sometimes it also becomes the space for raising poultry.

Concrete Home Boat: The front cabin is for work and rest, the middle cabin is for bedrooms and places to eat, and the rear cabin is for kitchen and toilet.

Wooden Fishing Boat: The bow on the deck is mainly used for labor production, the cabin is the bedroom and storage space, and the stern is the kitchen and toilet.

The use of the shedhouse is very diverse, and it can be flexibly transformed into different uses in different seasons with different water levels. Such flexibility comes from its lightweight structure and ingenious semi-floating strategy. Although it cannot adapt to changes in water level at any time like a boat, it has good adaptability in the face of the slow process of rising water level.

By studying the profiles of different shedhouses, we try to apply this strategy to the design of land houses. This allows land houses to better adapt to changes in water levels, rather than building flood embankments to fight water in the traditional model.

Sewage Backflow

The sewage pipes of some houses in the village discharge the sewage directly into the river, causing pollution. At the same time, during the flood period, the polluted water will flow back into the room through the exposed sewage pipes, causing pollution.

Quality Of Life Affected

Floods flooded the ground floor grocery stores, breakfast shops, hardware stores and other shops, and a large number of living facilities could not operate normally; at the same time, the first floor had a large number of electricity meters, water meters, fire hydrants and other infrastructure, which could not be used normally after soaking in water.

Homes on the road are at great risk of flood protection. In recent years, floods have occurred whenever there achieve effective results. As architects, we should learn from the traditional wisdom and find a way out for

SECTION

Basement Water Problem Power System Short Circuit

During floods, sewage can enter the kitchen, and sewage can flow back into the kitchen faucet, contaminating the entire water system. At the same time, after the flood, the accumulated water in the basement is also difficult to discharge, and it is necessary to use equipment such as pumps.

At the same time, when encountering a once-in-a-century flood, a flood that is 3 meters above the ground will cause a short circuit in the suspended power lines, and the communication, television, and electricity in the village will be seriously affected.

Beginning

Dan people is a special group between peasants and city dwellers, who traditionally make a living by fishing. However, due to the rapid urban sprawl in Guangzhou, the Dan culture of fishing villages has been impacted by urbanization. Is it their ultimate destination to demolish the structures on the water and turn into a so-called cleaner and civilized city? Can these structures be used to better adapt to the process of urban modernization while exerting their ability to integrate with water?

| After Renovation

For two- or three-story buildings, using a similar principle to dry docks, digging down a space where water can accumulate, and using the building's basement drainage to make the building float. At the same time, such floating can only move up and down under the action of the vertical rod. At the same time, the bottom has holes, so that the flood can be automatically absorbed by the earth, and there will be no problem of water accumulation after the flood.

Transparency: Responses to Air-doom Structures Form Hwarang Sports Complex Center and Park Design Competition

Air Dome is a new type of building form with the development of new materials and technologies. It uses a special architectural fiber membrane material as the "shell", and supports the "shell" through an automated pressurization and fresh air system to form an architectural form of building space. A new architectural form that integrates technologies such as automatic control. Nowadays, it is more and more widely used in stadium construction. However, from an architectural point of view, due to its own characteristics, many air-film stadiums are very similar in appearance and lack recognition. This design breaks the traditional design thinking, does not seek breakthroughs in the shape of the air film itself, but uses the theory of spatial transparency to give people a memory point through the physical connection between the two buildings.

Bamboo tube house is the product of increasingly expensive land in Guangzhou. It is a kind of building form based on the wisdom of wind lane in traditional Chinese residential houses, which solves the problem of hot and humid climate in Guangzhou. However, with the popularization of air conditioning, the wisdom of cold alley of bamboo tube house is slowly forgotten. At the same time, the traditional bamboo tube house lifestyle is more and more difficult to meet the needs of modern people. At the same time, this kind of wind lane residence has also become one of the traditional residential forms in modern Guangzhou. Located in Xigun district, Guangzhou, the project utilizes the wind lane wisdom of traditional bamboo tube residence to retain its distinctive formal characteristics and design a green, energy-saving, well-ventilated passive residence.

The Origin of Guangzhou Wind Alley Residence

Wind alley residence in Guangzhou date back to the 19th century. At that time, guangzhou's industry and commerce entered a period of rapid development, the urban population increased rapidly, the inner city land began to be tense, and the land price rose. In order to solve the ventilation problem of continuous and deep single room, people set wind alleys in the house, and the wind alley residence became one of the traditional residential forms in modern Guangzhou.

Wind Alley Residence on the Site

The plan of wind alley residence features single rooms, and the width of the door facing the street is narrow and small, usually only 3~4m, but the depth is large, mostly 12~15m.

The wisdom of wind alley residence

1.Bernoulli's Principle - When there is a natural wind

When there is a natural wind blowing in, the wind from the hall, the larger space into the wind alley, the narrower space, the wind speed will increase. At the same time, wind blowing over a small open patio creates negative pressure, and the patio also pumps air into the wind alley.

2.Stack Effect - When there is no natural wind

When there is no natural wind, as the upper part of the patio is heated by the sunlight radiation, the vertical temperature difference is formed, the hot air rises and drives the air below to supplement upward, forming the stack effect, and drawing air through the wind alley, forming hot pressure ventilation.

The project of Anti-Fascis War Museum is a reconstruction and expansion project based on the old warehouse, which is the most satisfactory building using light among the works I have done so far. I hope that while experiencing the exhibition inside the exhibition hall, people can also see the bullet hole-wall next to it through the line of sight, and see the different internal space with light and shade and the bullet hole wall outside under the natural light. Light always brings people hope. While commemorating heroes, I use light as a clue to guide tourists forward. Through new and old materials and rich light and shadow changes, the light creates the space, and the space also carries the light as a carrier.

Rem Koolhaas believes that every building is a city of a certain size, and a city is a building of a certain size. When a building is large enough to meet enough congestion, it will be like a city, and the original evaluation criteria of the building may not be applicable. In the context of the increasing popularity of e-books, more and more people do not need to go to the local library to borrow most books, they can easily read and store books through electronic devices. Today, many people go to the physical library or bookstore more to the scene of the reading atmosphere. Since books can store knowledge, culture and all kinds of interesting things, the public space of cities is also so rich and varied. Can the above concept model of comprehensive bookstore be applied to a vertical large-scale comprehensive library?

STRUCTURE

Tensegrity is a structural principle based on the application of compression within a continuous tension network. The compression members are not in contact with each other, while the pre-tensioned members form the spatial shape.

The term tensegrity was coined by Buckminster Fuller in the 1960s to describe "tensegrity structures".

Tensegrities saw increased application in architecture beginning in the 1960s, when Maciej Gintowt and Maciej Krasiński designed Spodek arena complex (in Katowice, Poland), as one of the first major structures to employ the principle of tensegrity.

The roof uses an inclined surface held in check by a system of cables holding up its circumference. Tensegrity principles were also used in David Geiger's Seoul Olympic Gymnastics Arena (for the 1988 Summer Olympics), and the Georgia Dome (for the 1996 Summer Olympics). Tropicana Field, home of the Tampa Bay Rays major league baseball team, also has a dome roof supported by a large tensegrity structure.

As people grow older, depression and loneliness are regarded as the major problems that they face. This is a resultant of either living alone or lack of close family ties and reduced connection with their culture of origin. This leads to making them unable to participate in community activities. With advancing age, people inevitably lose connection with their friendship networks. It also becomes more difficult to initiate new friendships and thus belong to new networks. This eventually leads to poor quality of life among the elderly. Being old, one priceless thing they possess is their experience. How can architecture create spaces that can increase the interaction of the elderly with the youth or children to share their experience?

The horizontal and vertical space brings the communication of the line of sight, and devices such as ladder, slide, net and platform are put in by using the height difference of the ramp to attract people to stay and generate activities.

RENDER

The continuous ramp combines rich functions to attract people on the line, generate encounters and conversations, promote the sharing of experience between the old and the young, and help the old to establish new social networks. At the same time, the semi-enclosed space in the middle can facilitate the visual communication between the old and the young.

Physical MODEL

The flowing shape naturally intertwines the two streamlines, organizes the communication space between the elderly and the young, and promotes intergenerational communication, which is not only beneficial to the mental health of the elderly, but also brings more valuable experience to the young.

The Sanjiang River Museum is part of the Xichang Jianchuan Film Museum project and one of the key projects in the high-speed rail new area. It is located in the southwest corner of the entire museum together with the Liangshan Museum and the Jianchang Museum, forming a unique museum complex in Xichang. The Sanjiang River Museum is mainly used to display the hydropower development and natural resources of the three rivers such as Jinsha River, Yalong River and Dadu River. The design indirectly expresses the huge hydroelectric potential of the period reserves by responding to the large drop of terrain. The shape of the two mountains starts from a large height difference, and with the logic of the meandering water, it naturally rotates to connect with the ground, indicating the process of the mountains turning into plains.

GENEALOGY

In the composition of plan geometric relationship, the curve of the overall shape is determined by a plurality of collinear eccentric circles and two concentric ellipses. For the structural position of the irregular body, the method of setting out the double circles and connecting them by dislocation at the intersection is adopted.

EXTERIOR RENDER

Liangshan Prefecture is rich in total hydropower resources, which can be developed equivalent to three "Three Gorges Hydropower Stations". The abundant hydropower resources originate from the high drop of the mountain.

This scheme emphasizes the spirit of the high drop of the three rivers, and at the same time has the gentle and meandering of the river.

INTERIOR RENDER

The interior design also emphasizes the impact of the high potential energy of the river. Following the logic of "water" between the blocks, the interior layout is naturally reversed, so that the interior and architectural form respond to each other.

In terms of materials, soft wood grain veneer panels are selected to form a warm and cold contrast with the stone bricks on the façade.
