TAIPEI PORT ART CENTER
_A momument to early settlement of Taiwan Island This is a studio project in Taipei Port where has an impressive history of immigrants who brought the flourish for Taipei City, The project tries to show the spirit of the immigrants.
THE HISTORY
THE CONCEPT The form of the building means to imitate the image of fish migration which shows the spirit of the early immigrants to the Taiwan Island. They ran upstream in order to survive and thrive.
“Bali, formerly known as Bali Tapenkeng, was the portal of mainland immigrants who came to Taiwan in the 18th century. Due to the difficulties of crossing the Strait, nearly 60 percent of them were drowned to death. However, Han Chinese still kept crossing the strait to Taiwan and finally brought the flourish to the island.

THE WIND SIMULATION The building is oriented according to the local micro-climate and captures the primary wind. The seashell shape is beneficial for the ventilation and provides a comfort zone with lower wind speed at the entrance plaza.
Ground Floor Plan
Separation of Pedestrians and Vehicles The bridge connects the site to the mainland. It is a vehicular and pedestrian bridge acrosing the water. The high speed vehicular flow is guided to the underground garage by a sloping path , which allows more area for the pedestrian and a integral entrance plaza.

UNTIED IKEA - THE EXPENSION OF IKEA _A new business model for IKEA
This is an extension project aims to explore a new IKEA building model with active community envolvement.
THE CONCEPT
The concept is to untie the IKEA building, breaking the boundary between Ikea and its neighborhood. By extending the showrooms outside the building, across the parking lot and spread to the street, the shopping behavior and the furniture become visible from the street, attracting more people to stop by. At the same time, this zigzag showcase skyway creates three zones below for community involvement: the community workshop area, the children education center and the green garden on the center. The mounds, serving as landscape and shelters for the activities on the ground level, turning the original parking lots into a walkable and enjoyable garden.

CHANGCHUN CULTURE CENTER
_A City Center that offers a platform for its people to meet, to perform The project is to create a gathering place to the people who live in this city, to bring their life back to the nature, the artistic environment and the city stage.
THE CONCEPT 1 The Massing: The project is located in northern China where the weather is very cold in winter. A compact building massing could effectively reduce heat loss in winter.
4 The Stage of the City: The cultural center is not only a place for people to visit, it is also stage for them to interact, perform and express themselves.
2 The Height: Rise the east side to increase river-facing building volume, and lower the west side to relieve the tension to the existing residential buildings.
5
The Sloped Roof: The sloped roof of the building served as a open roof park.
3 Visual Connection: Create a platform and keep the visual connection between the existing residential building to the canal.
6
The Sloped Roof and Central Court yard: The integration of interior and exterior spaces, to provide a central court yard, serving as the stage for the city.

White Church
_When arches meet pedals This wedding space design was inspired by the traditional church space. The arches, as one of the most ancient architectural language, expressed the sense of holiness. The arch slabs were overlapped, just like pedals, directing the focus to one central point.
Metal N’ Roses
_When cubes meet roses The combination of the softness of roses and the hardness of metal leads to a strong contradiction. Curved petals emerged in iron cubes. Following the lights and roses, head to the deepest center of the iron forest.
