About Me | My Role
2022 - NOW Commercial Photographer, Videographer GEMedia Department, Global Export Management Ltd. Pty. Adelaide, South Australia
I curated an exhibition titled “Future View” at China’s largest photography festival. The participating artists were all teenage photographers. We were honored with the Best Curator Award at this exhibition.
During the summers of 2018 to 2021, I conducted photography art classes for left-behind and orphaned children in the remote area of Lishui as part of a charitable organization.
From 2019 to 2021, I served as an instructor for the weekend photography class at Hangzhou Senior University. The average age of the students was 81 years old.
In November 2023, I filmed a promotional video in the Adelaide Hills wine region.
In the latter half of 2023, I spearheaded the production of promotional videos for over 10 wineries, assisting them in creating video materials for the Asian wine export market.
In July 2023, I filmed a video for the designer brand Kennedy Parker at the Adelaide Gay Arcade.
In December 2023, I captured the proceedings of the Australian Asian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s event and conference at Adelaide Crowne Plaza.
In May 2023, I documented the activities of the Vietnamese wine industry delegation during their visit to the South Australia Parliament.
In November 2022, I filmed the ordination ceremony at St. Peter’s Cathedral in Adelaide.

Works In Sa | Vietnam Wine Inboud Tour Delegations 2023 Event Photo
Since February 2023, I have been responsible for the management of photography, videography, and social media operations in the Media department of Global Export Management. In May, our department organized the inaugural South Australian wine tour for the Vietnamese wine industry business delegation post-COVID-19. I was in charge of event photography and social media promotion during this trip. I was responsible for capturing the photography of inspection activities at the South Australia Parliament, the South Australia Government Department of Trade and Investment, the National Wine Centre, McLaren Vale, and Adelaide Hills. The coverage gained over a hundred thousand clicks on Vietnamese social media, preparing the ground for the export of high-quality, environmentally friendly, and organic South Australian wines to the Vietnamese market.

In May and December 2023, I was responsible for capturing on-site photography during investment events organized by the Australian Asian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc., where Asian investors came to South Australia for investment opportunities.

Wineries Wineries Promotional Video | Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale
This was my first attempt at creating a promotional video for South Australian wines, a process that involved collecting market preferences, brainstorming and planning, coordinating communication among various stakeholders, on-site filming, final editing, and packaging. I am honored to have contributed to opening the Vietnamese market for local wineries in South Australia. Throughout this experience, I learned how to communicate with individuals from different cultural backgrounds, fostering mutual understanding and collaboration to ensure the smooth progress of a project. In October 2023, I was responsible for filming Organic Hill Wines, a renowned winery in the McLaren Vale region. I assisted them in preparing for export to the Vietnamese market. Farm Produce | Kersbrook Cherry Farm
Kersbrook Cherry Farm, situated in the Adelaide Hills, boasts a history of over 30 years as a cherry orchard. The filming spanned across key moments, including pruning in July, the blossoming season in September, the harvest in November, and the heartbreaking extreme rainfall in mid to late December 2023. I witnessed and documented the challenges faced by cherry farmers during this time.
The experience not only deepened my understanding of the difficulties in agriculture but also strengthened my resolve to assist outstanding agricultural products from South Australia in exporting to the Asian market.

Woolen Scarf | WooliWooli Scarf
In September 2023, I took charge of assisting the South Australian local scarf brand WooliWooli in the photo shoot for their new season’s imagery. I was responsible for the pre-production conceptualization and design, as well as communicating with six models from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. The models included an engineer from Iran, a fitness influencer from South Korea, an indigenous musician from Darwin, and a designer/jazz musician from Adelaide.

Green Energy Promotional Video | Alchemy Australia & GGE Solar
From July to November 2023, I had the privilege of overseeing the production of promotional videos for the sustainable clean energy, solar projects initiated by Alchemy Australia Investments and Green Gold Energy. The project is located at the border of South Australia and NSW in the Riverland region. I am delighted to have been fully responsible for this project, using my videos and photos to attract more renewable energy investors to participate in the construction of clean and sustainable energy projects in Australia. https://youtu.be/PM5iOXx0CZI

Chapter 3. Art Connect Community | Anglican Events, Volunteer
Since 2022, I have been consistently serving as a photography volunteer for St Luke’s Anglican Church Modbury. The events I have covered include the visit of Archbishop Justin Welby to Adelaide in November 2022, the December 2022 Ordination at St Peter’s Cathedral, and numerous baptism ceremonies. Starting in September 2023, I took on the responsibility of assisting St Luke’s Church in establishing its own social media team. Serving as the coordinator, I achieved over 10,000 clicks and gained more than 100 followers within 28 days. I produced several social media videos featuring Rev. Jo, aiding in community outreach efforts such as distributing Christmas hampers, Foodbank supplies, winter emergency heating materials, and Christmas gifts from the OP Shop to those in need. This volunteer work has allowed me, as a new immigrant, to engage more deeply in the community and has been a highly rewarding experience.

Samuel is a friend I met at St Luke’s Church. He left his homeland during the civil war in Sudan, spent ten years in a refugee camp, and tragically lost his parents during this period. In the early 2000s, he arrived in Australia through a refugee program. Here, he successfully obtained nursing qualifications, built a family, and raised four children. At the end of 2022, he was introduced during the Ordination at St Peter’s Cathedral as a religious leader for the Bari People. I am extremely proud of Samuel.

Art Connect Community | St Luke’s Church Social Media, Volunteer
While assisting St Luke’s Church in establishing its social media presence, I learned how to coordinate the schedules of various volunteers, navigate through council approvals, and most importantly, gained a deep understanding of what people in need within the community are thinking. I learned how to use social media strategies and content creation to effectively reach and engage with these individuals. The knowledge and experience I gained from this volunteer work far exceeded the effort I invested.

Art Connect Community | Chao Vietnam, Adelaide CBD This is a coffee shop located on Waymouth St, owned by a graduate of the Adelaide Blue Ribbon Culinary School who specializes in baking. Previously, they had a shop in Hanoi. As new immigrants to Adelaide, they have embarked on a new venture in the baking and coffee industry. I am pleased that my photos have been able to assist them in attracting more customers on platforms like Uber, Google, and their website. Most importantly, the images have helped new immigrants with language barriers easily navigate and place orders.

In May and September 2022, I served as the sports photographer for both the ABE Football Club and the Karate Club. I thoroughly enjoyed capturing the most exciting moments for the athletes during these events.

Art Connect Community | Pet Photography For Adelaide Hills, Volunteer
From 2022 to 2023, I have consistently volunteered as a pet photographer in the Adelaide Hills area. In my free time, I’ve engaged with numerous local residents, getting to know their furry family members and some of the working companions on the farms. I view each pet photoshoot as a window into understanding the residents, using the process to allow the pets to relax and naturally showcase their best selves.

What’s meaning of fine art photography for me?
Photography could not just record, it is also a way of expression. So, I take photography as a tool, or I prefer to say ‘weapon’, to express my feeling. I want to capture my anger, confusion and awakening, like Winston Smith in ‘1984’. Those works were made in China, during 2014 - 2021.

In case if you don’t know those names: The 14th Dalai Lama has been in exile since the 1950s when the Communist Party of China occupied Tibet, due to his advocacy for Tibetan autonomy and the human rights of the Tibetan people. Tan Zuoren has been secretly detained to this day due to his mourning of the Tiananmen Square incident and his investigation into the number of schoolchildren who perished in the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, as well as the poor quality of government school buildings Chen Guangcheng, a blind lawyer, was secretly detained for a decade due to his opposition to the family planning policy. He was ultimately rescued by the United States through diplomatic efforts and relocated to the U.S., where he has been engaged in legal research and human rights activities. Ai Weiwei, an artist, was arrested for investigating the number of schoolchildren who died in the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake. Subsequently, through diplomatic efforts, he went into exile overseas with the assistance of Germany. Liu Xiaobo, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate and university professor, attempted to rescue students during the Tiananmen Square protests. He faced severe repression and was imprisoned for twenty years. While in prison, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize but was unable to attend the ceremony. He passed away in prison in 2017 due to illness.
