Specifications for Training, Learning and Qualifications
AIMS Our aim is to design and implement a training product that links the specific requirements for training, learning and qualifications to Security Industry Authority licensing (SIA) and the requirements of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) for Lifelong Learning to; 1. Improve safety in the service sector (within the scope of the Service Directive 2006/123/EC, 2. Protect service providers from risk and improve safety in the sector as defined by the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, 3. Provide service providers with a quality controlled source of information and resources to complete procedural requirements, which are relevant to the individual’s occupational role and level of responsibility as defined by National Occupational Standards (NOS), and 4. Support men, women and children to become independent learners through affordable vocational training and learning to achieve the Key Competencies required in the workplace to meet wellbeing, safety quality requirements, which intern supports sustainable growth to individual users and provides added value for money to customers who use are products and services. SPECIFICATIONS The specifications outline what an individual needs to know, understand and do (performance requirements). Shall be defined by the; a) NOS applicable to the individuals Job role, and b) The level of responsibility as defined by the EQF Common Levels Reference Framework for Lifelong learning which shall be communicated to the individual via their “Working Time” performance record. NOTE: THE WORKING TIME PERFORMANCE RECORD IS A LEGAL REQUIREMENT. INDIVIDUALS WHO USE THE PRODUCT SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE TO MANAGE AND MONITOR WORKING TIME, PERFORMANCE, CONFORMITY TO OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND INDUSTRY CODES OF CONDUCT ON COMPLETION OF INDUCTION TRAINING. Applicants wishing to join the Security industry must take the relevant modules for the sector in which they wish to work. Trainers delivering training for the SIA approved qualifications must demonstrate that they have the necessary understanding of the relevant licensing sector.
