New Zhonghua business belt —PROPOSAL FOR ZHONGHUA R.D
2017-2018
Introduction Zhonghua shopping yard, a place full of memory for citizen in Taipei. This place has been removed after MRT project. Ximen underground street connects the MRT station and Ximending business district, but the grand occasion of commercial activities is far from Zhonghua shopping yard beforeďź
The commercial issue is my beginning point of base, and I find that Zhonghua R.D is full of opportunities in 21 century Taipei. In this project, we I give it a opportunity of becoming a public activity corridor. I proposed an idea of urban crossing economy since people walking from place to another. Furthermore, it is one of the most fundamental behavioral pattern in city, but there are hardly any design specifically targeted on it. I create a 3D corridor through design for the important urban issue.

new Zhonghua business belt 1947, the base full of refugee camps. West site was railway trail that separate people from crossing to the east. 1965, Zhonghua shopping yard was completed, had became most prosperous place at that time in Taipei. 1975, Zhonghua R.D covered with train trail and cars. Activities connect with the giant footbridge. 1992, Zhonghua shopping yard was demolished due MRT construction and an underground street was build later as a memorial of the yard. 2017, I do a lot of case studying, to analyze and find the best option that can be referenced for my design. Urban renewal is an opportunity to reestablish the poor efficiency underground street and redevelop the relation between buildings, streets, and underground Flow Road Railway Engine room Office building General building Commercial hotel Souvenir store Landmark Shopping mall Brand store Restaurant Book store
MEMORIAL FUNERAL —Reconstruction Of Navy Oil Tanks
2017
Introduction Space is limited. People invent for more available sepulture space. A new generation funeral uses natural elements in the base, burying memory of the dead, but not the body. The funeral space is designed in connection with some memorable elements..
A NEW GENERATION SEPULTURE DESIGN
When walking into the underground tank, people can be surrounded by the columns. They deeply root into ground. The image might link to an idea of the end of life. We all finally return to dust in mixture with roots.
In this space program, the underground tanks connect the upper space with the lower one. Users will intensively experience the space perception from the giant steel columns in the tank.
There are four huge tanks, and trees cover the surface in our site. This area used to be Japanese navy oil storage facility in WW2.

There are four tanks on the base. One of them is reformed to the entrance down to the lower space with a slope surrounded by giant steel columns. The other three tanks are reformed to funeral space for memory. People come here for memorial meeting and watering the tree in the middle of the tanks. As time going by, the trees grow up. Then, the same reason when visiting again, people may experience different space atmosphere. It could symbolize the past time.

PLAN / SECTION
Memory of habitat —Collective Housing
2016
Introduction In this project, there are 26 houses build up a collective housing system in the base located in the forest beside a river in the city. It also provides some precious green and relaxing sites for the community around the base. Each unit of the collective housing system is base on a RC structure framework. Modular architecture is easy to change space form and way of use for people who live in, creating collective memory of perching in urban environment.
Grove in forest —Bionic studio building
2014
Introduction The individual studio building is a bionic design. It is surrounded by a bamboo forest, a creek, and two camphor trees. It simulates the posture of the planets surrounding.
ISLAND LONELY KARST —THEMATIC SPACE
2015
Introduction
The project imitates the Karst terrain in Kaohsiung city. When walking into the space, people can enjoy experiencing the Karst terrain by passing through its different space levels.

URBAN DYNAMIC TREE SPACE —PROPOSAL FOR ZHONGHUA R.D
2017-2018
Introduction Trees are the most sparingly apportioned raw material of urban design. Henry F. Arnold How do we experience a city? In my opinion, walking is the best way .The quality of paths affect our urban life. Urban tree path composed of tree space, building, driveways, sidewalks, etc. We will explore the special relationship between them.

Patterns of urban tree path
Season change of trees (40 common arbors and 12 types of tree form)
Two trees do not interfere with each other in growth. The branches compete with each other to obtain enough sunlight and start to grow upward and outward when distance between two trees reduced. When distance between two trees is getting closer, growth of branches change space under the trees

identity of urban street tree space
48 urban street edge patterns
Building surface and direction of street affect growth of trees in urban environment. In response, trees strengthen their structure of root system. But we usually see root limited by tree pit in Taipei. So there come some better idea of tree pit in our research.
I put my research of urban tree space in Taipei into Zhonghua R.D. In this project, base on the identity list from previous pattern studying and tree space checklist. I build up 12 types of street edge design and 6 types of divisional island pattern design on my base.
Flowing park —Urban River Side Metropolitan Park
2017
Introduction The project is river side metropolitan park beside new A22 metro station in Jongli City. My design for this project is a linear park that follow Old Street Creek, forming a humanistic network in daily busy urban environment. The network will connect A22 Metro station, business district, school, night market, and urban park.

City oasis park —urban River Side community Park
2016
Introduction In this project, the riverside is reformed to become a park open for the residents of Jongli City. Water levels change in different seasons. Shown in the design with the uppers and the lowers, they reflect a flexible transformation upon the multi movements due to the changing water levels.
Stepping into the lower space, you will see a water platform, a tree standing at the end of sight, and sun light. The tree looks just like growing on the water platform; that gives an image that the oasis seems in the busy downtown.
