Let the SITE to form the BUILDING

-- is the main design concept of my Office and Commercial Building. The shape of Office and Commercial Building is followed by the adjacent building by continuously projecting their facing street façade. And it is joined by two rectangles and formed the shape. At the interaction point, it is the important FEATURE for my building. At the lower part – commercial space, it acts an important role – ENTRANCE. Also a huge void is created and to enhance the social community to the surrendering, the open space in front of building and the huge void is transition zone to the relationship between the Building and Surrounding. For the Office part, an extension is created a new area out of the two rectangles. The blue zone, an interesting glass wall is formed by perpendicular along to the Vertical Light Tower. It also is acting a role to attract people form the north-eastern Section B -B’ side

DESIGN INSPIRATION

MOTION IN QUIESCENCE

- inspired by phototaking skills - transform to tectonic design - functions along both side of corridor

The design concept of this project is inspired by photo taking technique – zoom effect and twisting the len during the shooter is processing. Space are classified into 3 levels: stilled sense of photo representing a static layer of space, photo with zoom effect representing the space when people is travelling inside and the zoom in/out focus effect with twisting the len representing the changing of the space. The concept is that photo can record the particular moment of a space. But time is still going, and space is changed unconsciously. In order to express the idea, a rotatable structural frame is designed.

In programme, a corridor at the middle services as the primary circulation and connects whole functions of the pavilion. The functions such as Cafe, restroom, storage, office etc. are hided at the two side of structural frames. Therefore, a clear view of corridor is always provided.

Earth Tour Museum
