Perfect demagnetization for perfect cleanliness Maurer-Degaussing®-Technology Manufacturers of cleaning machines guarantee achieving the specified residual dirt limits of ferromagnetic parts, only up to a defined residual magnetism level. This requires a powerful and stable demagnetizing process. Especially for this OEM-segment, Maurer Magnetic AG offers the new MM DN + SE demagnetizer. The power is designed to meet current requirements defined by the fine- and ultra-fine cleaning machine manufacturers (residual magnetism < 2A/cm at a Hall effect zone distance of ~2mm to the surface of the part).

Demagnetization prior to industrial cleaning processes Residual magnetism in a part causes attractive forces on ferromagnetic dirt particles. The particles stick on the surface of the part. This magnetic forces increase near to the surface, therefore even modern cleaning systems can‘t remove the dirt particles completely from the part. Demagnetizing coil SE The demagnetization coils of the SE product line are specially designed for the requirements of modern cleaning systems. If nesessary, a second coil can be used. Technology inside the conventional demagnetizing coil Demagnetizing tunnels have been used successfully for decades; their handling and application are widely known. Maurer Magnetic has enhanced those conventional devices by incorporating a power module. The Maurer Degaussing® Technology allows for demagnetizing massive work pieces or many parts concurrently. The control interface provides for a simple integration into automated processes within a production line. Conventional demagnetizing coils can be easily replaced by the Industrial Duty Demagnetizer MM DN + CT-U.

Versatile remote control application The more powerful Demagnetizing Coils CT-U can be used both in continuous and pulse operation. They are therefore suitable for continuous as well as discontinuous material flow. The integrated interface makes process monitoring simple.
Universal for manual operation The parts are put into the coil and demagnetized with one or more pulses. Since the coil does not require any conveyer belt, the device saves space.
Depending on local regulations, the operator has to keep some distance from the Demagnetizing Coil MM CT-U during the demagnetizing pulse.

Demagnetizing Coil CT-U The Demagnetizing Coil CT-U is made for heavy-duty and shop floor use. The coils are equipped with a terminal box incorporating an on-off switch, an operating lamp and a temperature sensor. A set of 10-ft. plug-in cables connects the Demagnetizing Coil CT-U with the Power Module MM DN. By means of an adaptor the Demagnetizing Coil CT-U can be operated directly from the mains and can be upgraded with a Power Module MM DN at any time. The performance of a CT-U without a Power Module MM DN is equivalent to that of a conventional CT.

Intuitive and safe operation The parts get demagnetized by putting them into the Coil Module MM KE and activating the demagnetizing pulse. There is no need to move the parts through a stationary magnetic field. Operation requires a minimum of instruction. The demagnetizing pulse is triggered by remote control. Depending on local regulations, the operator has to keep some distance from the Coil Module MM KE during the demagnetizing pulse. Consult your safety inspector for applicable limits regarding exposure to magnetic fields.

Removing residual magnetism effectively and efficiently Modern industrial manufacturing processes impose limits for remanent magnetism on components at 2 A/cm. For example, it is not possible for parts to become sufficiently clean after being washed, or for welding processes to run smoothly, at a residual magnetism exceeding these limits. The MM DN + VE degausser is the perfect choice to efficiently and productively demagnetize parts in your manufacturing process. Depending on the design, the MM DN + VE degausser creates a degaussing field of 50 up to 180 kA/m. This makes it possible to demagnetize bulk parts in carriers, transport containers, or complex individual parts, with a pulse lasting only a few seconds – and at a quality level never before reached. The brief demagnetization pulse, the precise dimensioning of the active opening, and the fine tuning of the field strength make sure that the demagnetization process is highly effective. The MM DN + VE degausser is ready to be integrated into highly automated manufacturing processes in an industrial environment. Its operation is simple and intuitive. Maurer-Degaussing®-Technology
The high-performance demagnetizers are the most powerful products in Maurer Magnetic’s demagnetizer line. The patented Maurer Degaussing Technology has been perfectly implemented into these products, and demagnetizes any parts. Magnetically hard materials, interior components of shielded parts, or large volumes of bulk materials are completely demagnetized by the magnetic field, which reaches field strengths of up to 400 kA/m in powerful coils. Fully flexible cable coils even ensure the demagnetization of large parts that weigh up to 50 tons.
The fully-automatic demagnetization process demagnetizes the material within a few seconds with a powerful degaussing field pulse. The unit’s operation can be manual or integrated into an automated production process.
Modular configuration The demagnetization system is modularly structured into the MM DM power modules, the MM HLE coil modules or other special coils. This means all demagnetizers can be implemented extremely flexibly. Thanks to the fact that the coil is separate from the MM DM power module, operators do not suffer undue exposure to the electromagnetic field. Various coil modules can be operated without adjustment using a mobile MM DM power module.

Different kinds of parts can be demagnetized with CT-UDM coils. The parts are placed inside the coil and are demagnetized within a few seconds. Universal coils are generally used in addition to other coils, such as cable coils or the MM HLE coil.
The MM HLE high-performance coils are generally used in industrial environments and automated production lines. The active opening and the field strength are tailor made. Large parts are demagnetized using flexible cables. The cables must be wrapped around the part to be demagnetized. The degaussing pulse removes the magnetism from the part.
Demagnetization with the MM HLE high-performance coil integrated into a protective housing We recommend using the protective housing in manual working environments for the MM HLE high-performance coil. The housing protects operators and other personnel from unwanted exposure to the electromagnetic field. The active opening of the coil is available horizontally or vertically on customer’s request.

The demagnetization program defines the frequency and the form of the degaussing pulse.
The offset settings superimpose a static field on the demagnetization process, e.g. to compensate the earth’s magnetic field. Offset works only with cable and universal coils.

During continuous demagnetization, the degaussing field stays at constant amplitude. This is typically used to demagnetize very long parts.

With the MM DM-PC, four demagnetization programs can be selected through the 15-PIN D-Sub interface; or an unlimited number manually.

Measuring residual magnetism in a fast and reliable way The M-Test LL is robust and easy to operate. The color touch screen shows the measured values and automatically saves the maximum values which can be reset by the screen. Zero adjustment is done with push-buttons. The LED at the probe tip indicates smallest areas with residual magnetism with a response time below 1ms. The probe is connected to the
indicating device by a spiral cable which is pluggable on both sides. The basic configuration has an analog output. With the option «USB interface» the measured values can be evaluated on a PC. The software is included.

Reliably detect and measure residual magnetism on workpieces The M-Test LR handheld meter quickly and precisely measures magnetic fields on ferromagnetic parts of all types. The specially reinforced and robust probe is suited for tough, industrial use.

M-Test MK4 Universal handheld meter for magnetic fields
Universal meter for measuring magnetic fields The M-Test MK4 precisely detects and measures static or dynamic magnetic fields. The tangential probe is only ~1mm thick, permitting exact, accurately positionend measurements at hard-to-reach spots or on surfaces. The M-Test MK4 is especially suitable for measuring permanent magnets or small ferromagnetic parts.
Magnetic fields are easily detected by the fast-reacting color LED, when the user runs the probe over the surface of the part. Up to date specifications for demagnetized components require a residual magnetism of 4A/cm or less. The influence of induced geomagnetic fields, misclassifies the measurements. The Zero Gauss Chamber delivers consistent test results due to measurements taken within a chamber that shields the magnetic field of the earth. Therefore the test results can be reproduced at any location, which provides global quality control.

The high shielding factor allows precise and non-directional measurements inside the Zero Gauss Chamber, by shielding the magnetic field of earth or other external fields. This is of importance, especially for elongated parts with a high initial magnetic permeability.

Magnetfeldbetrachter auch für sehr schwache Magnetfelder Der Magnetfeldbetrachter ist die schnelle und saubere Art magnetische Muster sichtbar zu machen. Er erfordert keine zusätzlichen Chemikalien. Der Betrachter erlaubt schwache Magnetfelder, wie bei Restmagnetismus, Aufnahmesignale von Magnetspulbändern, Disketten oder Magnetkarten, sichtbar zu machen. Ebenso kann er im Computer- und Instrumentenbereich eingesetzt werden. Probleme bei Aufnahme- oder Wiedergabesystemen können leicht bestimmt werden. Er erlaubt es zudem Audio- und Videospuren zu synchronisieren. Werkzeuge, Aufnahmeköpfe oder Führungssysteme können überprüft werden, ob sie ausreichend magnetisiert sind. Auch die Muster von Magneten werden mit dem Betrachter sichtbar. Der Magnetfeldbetrachter wird in einer Feuchthaltedose ausgeliefert, um die Einsatzdauer des Betrachters zu verlängern. Die optische Auflösung beträgt 200 dpi. Analoge Standardlevel-Aufnahmen können bis zu 500 Hz bei 7,5 I.P.S. betrachtet werden. Typ Type

Magnetic Viewer also suitable for very weak magnetic fields The Magnetic Viewer provides a fast, clean way to view magnetized patterns. It requires no exterior chemicals. The Magnetic Viewer permits to make visible weak magnetic fields as with the residual magnetism, signals of magnetic tapes, disks or magnetic cards. The Magnetic Viewer can be also used in the domain of computers and instruments. With this convenient instrument, you can easily view recorded signals for head alignment, track placement, pulse definition, interblock spacing and drop-out areas in computer and instrumentation work. It can also be used to determine, record or reproduce problems in malfunctioning systems. It can be used to synchronize the audio track on a video recorder. It is functional in determining wether tools, heads or guides are magnetized. The viewer can also be used to examine the
magnetic patterns on other types of magnetized parts. The viewer is supplied in a humidor jar designed to prolong the viewer life. The resolution is 200 digital B.P.I.. Resolution of standard level analog recording to 500 Hz at 7.5 I.P.S..
