Project for the Most Vulnerable Roma Families in Belgrade has envisaged complex process of consultations with potential beneficiaries of social housing within the project in order to ensure their participation in design of the housing solutions and relevant decision making, but also to increase their satisfaction with the project results thus strengthening sustainability of the project. One of the steps in this process is consultation with potential beneficiaries on architectural design of the housing model, type of buildings and flats. The activity is undertaken: - to ensure that the design is line with community’s housing preferences and habits; - to ensure that affected community’s viewpoints on the proposed architectural design for Social Housing are duly taken into consideration in process of finalization of the design; - to demonstrate commitment of all parties to a participative process.

EDUCATORIUM
new learning center
Modern communication and information technology is increasingly used in the production process and education. This leads us to a re-evaluation of the organization and defining space. Looking at Tschumi’s theoretical starting point that architecture can not exist without a program and space without an event, he writes about space as an instrument of social transformation. Does changing the relationship between the individual and society, placing themselves in a virtual environment, generates a better way of life? This project explores the realtion of the endless virtual world of information in an architectural space.

MUSEUM
reconstruction of the formal military academy into the new belgrade city museum
Transforming a military academy into a contemporary city museum with a vast collection made this concept about exploring the building the way that we explore an art collection. The intervention is based on strategically placed incubators – spaces that are connected and work as a whole but also are very independent and can work as an individual space. The new ‘shell’ guides visitors chronologically through the collection with a new educational concept at the end of every era.

GOOD CITY FORM science and technology museum
Science and technology are two of the fastest growing economies in the world. To have a contemporary museum with a collection of ‘science and technology’ needs a space that can grow and change as fast as science does. The museum works as an elevated public space that moves pass the walls and ramps and the exhibition to the level of complete unity with the city and its surroundings. With the idea that most of the exhibits are digital, the space is made to be fluent and easy to manipulate.

CULTURAL CENTER cultural centar in Vracar
The initial idea was obtained from the correlation, smashing block and makeing a diagonal pedestrian connection, which connects Golsfortijevu and Kicevska street. The original concept was to free the ground floor and make it into a public space that would connect to the park across the street as well. The part of thr street that separates the building and the park would become a pedestrian transit or semi transit street - depending on the time of day. An artificial hill was given the purpose of the open ground floor area in which they notched four amphitheater. Three of the amphitheater are facing gable walls of existing neighboring buildings and the fourth amphitheater facing the park / thus allowing to park to beused as a stage on warmer days.

HABITAT
housing project re-
Habitat project explores a new concept of living and apartment design. Located in an old part of the city, the habitat project ‘infects’ the surrounding buildings and attaches to them so that the ground floor would become elevated and turn into a public space, something that this part of the city needs. The hexagonal module connected as two work as a small apartment / house. The modules are connected with elevators and stairs. The rooftops work as common ground and transit areas. The habitat project is based upon an idea of contemporary living arrangements and explores the idea of collective living in and Eco friendly environment.

URBANISM
edge, stich how can a distant part of the city become an connector?
Urban project (group of 3) of an unused area of the city with great potential. The task was to create a connector and merge the new area with the rest of the city (capital). Analyzing the traffic, real estate, neighborhood, pollution and the morphology of the land itself we came to a design idea. The concept was to crate a transit pedestrian line from the busiest street all the way to the bay. The pedestrian ‘line’ would resonate to the whole neighborhood and set a tone for the residential area. As the line moves towards the bay, it gets wider, turning itself into a park and a marina.

I strasna raskršća sunaca, i puti Kud oluj svetlost neprekidno ide, Kroz nemi predeo gde vlada i ćuti Bog koji ubija oči kad ga vide.

Silent Lambs and Big Bad Wolves Cover: Aleksandar Radoman photographer Artefact: Hyde Vase Catalog: Vinča - prehistoric metropolis Excavations 1908 - 2008, page 177, img.no. 72
The Conference symbol is the remarkable Hyde Vase, a zoomorphic vase found at the Neolithic site of Vinča – Belo brdo, near Belgrade, Serbia. It has obvious elements of both animal and human form, having a body of a bird and a face of a human, with peculiar horns or some kind of heard at the top of its head. The vase was found together with 11 other pots in a shallow depression, suggesting a significant or even a ritual context. It is preserved in the Archaeological Collection at Faculty of Philosophy in Beolgrade

The presentation will focus on some of the methodological issues facing what has been dubbed ‘the animal turn’ in the social sciences. Firstly, I intend to suggest a brief outline of some of the key developments in the social sciences and humanities which led to emergent field of human-animal relations. The intersection between archaeology, anthropology, sociology, ethics and social activism will be suggested as the core or basis on which the field of human-animal studies is built. Secondly, I will give an overview of the issue of the human-animal boundary and ways in which it has historically been negotiated, established and re-established through the practices of science and law in Western societies. Thirdly, I will discuss the need to start thinking of animals as agents capable of affecting the world around them, as catalysts of events as well as actors in their own right in human social worlds. I will discuss a number of methodological concepts and issues which I have found useful in my own research into human-animal relations. Specifically, the concept of ‘unnatural histories’ suggested by historian Nigel Rothfels (2009), and the issue of ‘anthropomorphism’ inherent to the social sciences and the concept of ‘egomorphism’ suggested as a substitute by philosopher Kay Milton (2005). I will address the issue of how social scientists can deal with non-verbal Others, drawing on the work of sociologists Arluke and Sanders (1993) and anthropologist Eduardo Kohn (2007), among others. Finally, I shall attempt to demonstrate the pitfalls and subsequent fallacies which can arise from neglecting the agency of animals in the study of human societies, and not least of all, human webs of meaning.
