01 Group Housing Project

A GREAT CAFE EXPERIENCE COMES WITH A GREAT CAFE DESIGN. IT SHOULD BE A PLACE FILLED WITH UNIQUE POSSIBILITIES TO FORGE SOCIAL AND CULTURAL CONNECTIONS. CAFE’S NOT ONLY TELL THE STORY OF FOOD ,BUT ALSO PEOPLE AND SPACES. FROM CASUAL MEETIND TO SOLO WORKING OR MEETING FOR BUSINESS ,IT IS A DYNAMIC AND IRREPLACABLE IN THE MODERN CITY.

A CAFETERIA IS BEING DEVELOPED BY AURANGABAD MUNICIPAL CORPORATION NEAR A GARDEN AREA AND IN THE RAPIDLY DEVELOPING AREA. THE COMPANY PROPOSES TO CONSTRUCT A CAFETERIA CATERING ABOUT 100 PEOPLE AT A TIME. THE AREA OF THE PROPOSED SITE IS ABOUT 0.80 ACRES. THE DESIGN DEMONSTRATES THE FLEXIBLE AND FUNCTIONAL USE OF SPACE FOR CAFE AND WITH INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS TO ENHANCE THE INDOOR ENVIRONMENT FOR THE USERS.THE CONCEPT BEHIND THE FINAL DESIGN WAS TO CREATE AN INVITING ,BRIGHT AND FUNKY SPACE THAT WILL INSPIRE USERS TO BE HEALTHY, ACTIVE AND SOCIAL. USE OF VARIOUS ELEMENTS LIKE USE OF COLOURS,WALLPAPER DESIGNS,MATERIALS LIKE STAINED GLASS ,OUTDOOR SPACES ,SKYLIGHT ,ETC. HAS BEEN DONE TO CREATE THE DESIRED ENVIORONMENT.

CORRUGATED DUCT IS USED AS A HOLE FORMER FOR A VARIETY OF PRECAST AND CAST-IN-SITU CONCRETE WORKS. • GROUT COUPLER: GROUT COUPLER CAN BE USED FOR CONNECTING PRECAST WALLS, COLUMNS, BEAMS EITHER HORIZONTALLY OR VERTICALLY. • PRECAST SHOE: MAINLY USED FOR CONNECTING PRECAST COLUMN AND FOUNDATION, PRECAST SHOE CAN ALSO BE USED TO CONNECT PRECAST WALL PANEL TO FOUNDATION. THE USE OF SPLIT BAMBOO INSTEAD OF WHOLE BAMBOO FOR REINFORCEMENT MAKES THE BOND BETWEEN CONCRETE AND BAMBOO STRONGER. TAR OR CREOSITE TREATMENT IS PROVIDED AT THE BOTTOM. DISTANCE BETWEEN EACH PILE IS UPTO 3M.

WALLS ARE CONSTRUCTED USING LOCALLY AVAILBLE MATERIALS i.e. BAMBOO AND MUD. SPLIT BAMBOO MEMBERS ARE VERTICALLY ALIGNED AND THEN PLASTERED WITH MUD. THE INTERLOCKING OF SPLIT BAMBOO HELPS TO CREATE A STRONG BOND BETWEEN BAMBOO AND MUD PLASTER. THIS FRAMEWORK ENSURES SAFETY AND RESISTANCE AGAINST HIGH WIND.

ATTIC IS PROVIDED FOR USE DURING FLOODS. THE ATTIC HEIGHT AT THE EAVE LEVEL IS 1.5M AND THE CLERESTORY HEIGHT BELOW IS 2.4M. DURING THE MONSOON PERIOD, A HUGE AMOUNT OF PADDY, WHEAT, BEANS ETC. CAN BE STORED, HENCE, ATTIC ACTS AS A HUGE STORAGE PLACE WHICH WILL HELP IT TO PREVENT IT COME IN CONTACT WITH RAIN WATER.

A SEPTIC TANK IS PROVIDED FOR THE WASTEWATER TREATMENTTHRIUGH THE PROCESS OF SEDIMENTATION i.e. BIOLOGICAL DECOMPOSITION AND DRAINAGE. DIMENSIONS - 2M x 0.9M x 1.5M

ADDITION OF STILTS WILL ALLOW WIND TO PASS AND AVOID UPLIFITNG OF STRUCTURE. ALSO PROVIDE FLOOD PROTECTION.

CONCEPT:

THE WHOLE DEISGN REVOLVES AROUND COURTYARD AND INTROVERT PLANING. SANJIBANI MEANS BOON OF NEW LIFE AND SO IS THE PROJECT.

HENCE MAKING THE STRUCTURE CIRCULAR WILL HELP TO TACKLE WIND PRESSURE .

CHAMFERING OF CORNERS WILL REDUCE THE PRESSURE COMING ON WALLS.
