Why SmartSocket?

Energy efficiency SmartSocket supervises and controls the plugged-in device to decrease overall power consumption whilst effectively maintaining the quality of service. SmartSocket empowers you to optimize energy consumption by eliminating wasteful device usage and scheduling devices to operate during the lower price period automatically. For example: „turn off all coffee machines, monitors and printers which operate in stand-by mode after working hours.

With a built-in unique identification algorithm SmartSocket recognizes the model number and operational state changes of the plugged-in device by analyzing it’s power consumption patterns. Having all electrical devices identified on your network enables you to remotely and automatically manage them, no matter which socket they are plugged in. You set the control policies and SmartSocket does the rest.

Device monitoring and controlling SmartSocket supervises and controls the plugged-in device to decrease overall power consumption whilst effectively maintaining the quality of service. Automatic remote control based on policies Device recognition and automatic remote control allows us to actually execute the energy saving plan without needing to rely on human cooperation. Energy consuming devices are automatically recognized and their access to energy is remotely controlled. The output states depend on the identified events and the associated control policies can be configured remotely.

Secondary savings Detailed power parameter measurement data and event signal information allows us to locate additional great opportunities to reduce unnecessary consumption. Based on the acquired data Remagine Recommendation Engine can localize the most promising fields of energy savings by finding the complex correlations. For instance: the air conditioner is on, but a colleague is using a space heater under his/her desk. Or the lights are on during the day on a sunny summer day.

Enhanced security SmartSocket is also an automatic tool to ensure significantly safer building management by enforcing corporate policies. You can set time, space and device type based criteria to grant or deny access to energy for authenticated electronic devices, like coffee machines, freezers, microwave owens are only allowed in the kitchen (like the office rules always have indicated). SmartSocket network is capable of warning on device theft and electric fire risk. This way you provide an incredibly safe working environment and may decrease your insurance fees.



Design Simplified user interface SmartSocket needs only two LEDs to indicate the complex inner operations to you. The wireless LED displays the connection status to the wireless sensor network, while the analysis LED shows the activity of the event detection. You can interact with the SmartSocket device using only one button.

Industrial design The goals of our industrial designer team were not only to meet the standards, ensure intuitive usage, achieve small size, etc. but also to make it beautiful. SmartSocket perfectly fits into a professional office environment.

OPERATING CONCEPT You can get measured values from SmartSocket by streaming data over ZigBee interface. In Measurement mode SmartSocket stores raw measurement data in local memory and transmits it to the Concentrator via wireless communication. Detected events are signaled in the time of occurrence over ZigBee interface. SmartSocket can be programmed using the Remagine Concentrator network component. This requires the Concentrator to be connected to the installed SmartSocket network via ZigBee interface.
