Proposed site plan
The construction consists of a rigid system of pillars and horizontal concrete floor slabs. A residential floor slab may be divided into two, three or four sub units according to the economic possibilities of the residents. The entrance corridors connect to the elevator and staircase. Within the corridor are the utilities of the building, allowing each unit to plug in. The structures build off one and other creating a dense system of housing.

Independent Study | Urbanism Institute | Charlottesville spring 2013
Where as the 20th century brought about the study of the “business,” the 21st demands the opportunity to engage in the study of the “city.”
Can we capture how the individual engages and interacts with his setting, both natural and man made?
How can the figure re_emerge after the acceptance of abstraction?
