Evacuation plan and procedure We expect our parking lots to be full and the overflow areas to be very crowded with vehicles. The public safety team, along with the Streets department and Parking staff, has placed barricades and road closed signs in strategic locations to help with traffic congestion in case of evacuation during an unforeseen event. We are asking that all motorists obey traffic signs and follow the traffic patterns as directed by staff members. Remember, your safety is our No. 1 concern. In the unlikely event of an emergency, instructions will be announced over the loudspeakers at Cielo Grande and on the eventʼs official radio station, HOT 97.1 FM.

PARKING INFORMATION To access our site, go west from North Main Street onto West College Blvd and proceed through two stop signs; or go east from North Sycamore Avenue to West College Blvd. As you continue west from Main or east from Sycamore you will discover our location. The main (east) entrance is very busy. The second entrance on the west side of Cielo Grande Recreation Complex provides easier access. Access is also available from 8th street near Spring River Golf Course by going west on 8th Street from Union or coming east from North Sycamore Avenue. There are several restricted parking lots designated for Event Staff, Officials and Vendors. (Please reference site map on our website) RESERVED PARKING — Reserved parking in the northwest parking lot and the three smaller south one-way parking lots (see map) will benefit the New Mexico Youth ChalleNGe Academy and The Boys and Girls Clubs of Chaves and Lincoln Counties. A $10 donation for single onetime parking or $20 donation for a weekend pass will be requested. NOTE: These parking lots must be accessed from the main entrance on West College Blvd. FREE PARKING — All remaining parking will be open parking around Cielo Grande Recreation Complex at no charge. There are miles of paved parking with four entrances/locations for participant and spectator parking. Event Staff will be stationed at all entrances to assist you. Free close-to-field access lots off of College Avenue, west of the existing playing fields, will have parking all the way to 8th Street. Our easiest access free parking is off of 8th Street, just west of the existing playing fields. And finally, our free, but extremely congested, parking is

at the main Reserved Parking entrance on College Avenue. To avoid problems with law enforcement, do not park or drive on the walking path around the playing fields and observe all NO PARKING signs. If someone double parks (blocks another vehicle in) or parks in a non-designated area, they will be towed at the vehicle owner’s expense ($150 minimum fee; see towing signs at all site entrances). RV parking will be located on the north side of College Avenue west of the new construction and the second location south of the Youth fields. RV PARKING — is being provided by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chaves and Lincoln Counties. There is no RV Parking next to the fields! The lots are located just North of the main park entrance off of College Blvd to the west of the new construction and on the south side of the youth fields by the grove of trees accessible from 8th Street. The Overnight RV Parking Permit is FREE but a donation to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chaves and Lincoln Counties would be greatly appreciated. Please download the Permit from our website to display through the weekend. NOTE: There are no utilities so you will need to haul out whatever you bring in! (For further information please call Tim Coughlin with the Boys & Girls Club 575-973-5469). Finally, please drive slowly and cautiously as we have many more pedestrian crossings this year and have a great Memorial Day weekend at the largest 4-on-4 flag football tournament on Earth!

MAKE THE SWITCH TO LEDS. Sometimes, being more energy efficient is as simple as changing a light bulb. Today’s LED bulbs use up to 70-90% less energy than a traditional bulb, and last significantly longer too. It’s an easy switch that we’re making even easier, by providing discounts on LED bulbs at select retailers. We’re always delivering ways to save. To learn more, visit the Xcel Energy booth near the championship fields. To find a retailer near you, visit xcelenergy.com/LightingDeals.

Boys and Girls Club supports Hike It & Spike It

Mikayla Fuller Special to RDR Sports Ever since the Boys and Girls Club of Sierra Blanca in Ruidoso acquired the Boys and Girls Club of Roswell in 2017, they have been looking for ways to help out the community wherever they can. Tim Coughlin is the President of the Ruidoso club and CEO of both the Roswell and Ruidoso clubs. “We’re for every kid that lives in Lincoln and Chaves County,” Coughlin said. He has assisted in reconstructing

the board and chose to volunteer for Hike It & Spike It with the encouragement of Board President Jim Matteucci who has been involved in Hike It & Spike It for 24 years. Tim chose to become involved in Hike It & Spike It because, “We’re always looking to be a part of the community like the community supports us. It’s our way of giving back.” Coughlin will be in charge of RV parking. Natasha Welt is the Roswell Boys and Girls Club Unit Director and she will be in charge of normal parking.

Both Welt and Coughlin will distribute ice to vendors and help with whatever else needs to be done. Welt has been with the Boys and Girls Club of Roswell for over a year and has lived in Roswell, helping the community, for 27 years. “I am most excited for new faces and getting to meet a few different people and community individuals to join forces,” she said. Officials are needed for the event and Welt and Coughlin encourage the community to come out, show support, and have a good time.
