INEOS AUTOMOTIVE APPOINTS NEW CEO

Lynn Calder has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer

With this step, Dr Uli Weller will be promoted to an additional Managing Director of the Liqui Moly Group, which also includes the Meguin GmbH & Co. KG Mineraloelwerke in Saarlouis as well numerous Liqui Moly subsidiaries abroad. He will also continue functioning as the Commercial Director while Günter remains as the company spokesman.

Liqui Moly has been very successful under the leadership of Günter as the new boss since the 1st of March 2022.

Despite the difficult global economy and the extremely difficult situation on the raw material market, the company in Ulm continues to grow and has created 72 additional jobs in 2022.

Dr Weller is happy about his task.

“I’m looking forward to helping shape the future of Liqui Moly from the top. As long as I’ve been working for the company, I’ve been well aware of the fact that success is ultimately always a team effort. And we have an extraordinary team, and I would like to be part of leading it,” Dr Weller said.

Lynn, an experienced INEOS Group executive, took up her new role with immediate effect in late December after six years in the INEOS Group, including multiple CEO roles for various divisions. She was formerly in private equity.

INEOS Automotive says Lynn’s appointment completes a new, strengthened leadership team for the company, marking the transition from engineering project to commercial business. Following this appointment, Hans-Peter Pessler – formerly a senior executive from Magna Steyr in Austria that manufactured the G-Wagon for Mercedes – has taken up a new permanent role as Chief Operations Officer of INEOS Automotive, responsible for all engineering and operations.

Phillippe Steyer meanwhile remains as President of INEOS Automotive SAS, responsible for manufacturing, SHE (Safety, Health and Environmental management) and supply chain.

“We are in the automotive industry for the long haul. The team has done a great job leading the engineering programme and overseeing the set-up of manufacturing. Now, as it goes into full commercial mode, Lynn and Hans-Peter will take us forward in the next stage of the company’s development,” INEOS Automotive Limited Chairman, Ashely Reed, said.

“It is an exciting time to be taking the reins,” Lynn said.

“The team and the Grenadier itself have come a long way, and yet we’re still only at the beginning of creating a global automotive business. I love a challenge, and with bold plans for the future, I’m looking forward to the adventure ahead.” Order books for INEOS Automotive’s Grenadier are now open and production has commenced. Combining rugged British spirit and design with German engineering rigour, INEOS Automotive sys the Grenadier will be a truly uncompromising 4x4 built from the ground up.
