TAG UPS THE ANTE WITH PREFERRED SUPPLY PARTNERSHIP

The company has joined up with retail chain TJM via its TAG Towbars brand to supply 4WD enthusiasts with quality towing solutions.

The TJM/TAG partnership brings together two of Australia’s leading 4x4 accessory specialists under the one roof.

TAG’s towbar and towing accessory range will now be available across one of Australia’s favourite 4x4 accessory dealer networks, which includes over 80 retail stores.

“Bringing on TAG Towbars, a market-leader themselves, as our official partner for towing solutions, is a sign of great things to come for TJM in 2023,” TJM Head of Customer Experience and Retail Strategy, Matt Logan, said.

“With this partnership, we are able to offer our customers an even greater range of unbeatable 4x4 accessories, for even more vehicle models, and ensure that we remain one of Australia’s most recommended destinations for 4x4 modification and rebuilds.”

TAG – a brand of SWD – has been designing and manufacturing towbars in Australia for over 40 years and has one of the largest ranges of towbars and wiring solutions in the country.

TAG’s impressive portfolio includes a comprehensive range of 4x4 towbars (including Extreme Recovery, and Heavy-Duty towbars), BRiNK European Towbars, and a wide array of towing accessories such as innovative tow balls, hitch pins and tow ball scales, along with CURT brake controllers and cargo solutions, plugs and trailer adapters, vehicle-specific wiring solutions and so much more.

“For over 40 years, we’ve made it our mission to design and manufacture the best towbars and towing accessories imaginable to handle the harsh Australian environment,” TAG Chief Operating Officer, Mike Tomsett, said.

TJM has announced that customers will begin to see the introduction of TAG Towbars and accessories across its entire store network, including online, in the first quarter of 2023.

SWD says it offers the largest range of Australian made, aftermarket automotive exhaust and towing products, including sports and 4x4 exhaust systems, diesel particulate filters, catalytic converters, 4x4 accessories, towbars, wiring harnesses and towing accessories. Its towing solutions fall under its TAG brand.

TAG has been designing and manufacturing towbars in Australia for over 40 years, stating it is “The Expert in Towbars and Towing Technology”. Its towing products are developed in its Queensland facility, and it has distribution centers in all states.

TAG Towing reports to having one of the largest ranges of towbars and wiring solutions that covers over 90 percent of vehicles on the road in Australia.

TAG Towbars are designed, engineered, and tested to meet the requirements of the Australian

Standard AS4177 and Australian Design Rule ADR62/02 and SWD claims its customer service is of extremely high standard.

“This is why we have strategically positioned warehouses across Australia with experienced delivery teams who handle every order with precision, care and speed,” Mike said.

“Our highly trained Accounts Managers and their experienced product teams are also ready to help our customers with their business requirements and growth.

“We are always listening to our customer’s needs and feedback and often shift quickly to make sure we are providing the right kind of service and product range.”

TAG distributes through a dedicated group of TAG distributors and resellers. It supplies all the Big Box retailers and 4x4 specialists nationally, providing towing solutions to fleets, tradies, grey nomads, weekend warriors, and anyone that needs to tow.

TAG is a specialist towing solutions provider that says it has become a market leader by not only looking to satisfy end user needs, but also taking care of its distribution channel and treating them like partners.

TAG says it is big enough to serve national players, yet nimble enough to work with the “man in a van,” providing a service to their local community.

“A continuous improvement mentality drives innovation and quality resulting in great customer satisfaction,” Mike said.

“We have entrepreneurial drive to be the best at what we do, with a huge focus on product development, testing, and engineering and manufacturing excellence.

“TAG is dedicated and committed to manufacturing our towbars in Australia. Over the years, we have achieved an incredible product range, including the new TAG Extreme Recovery Towbar.

“We can produce a premium product in Australia that is significantly cheaper at the trade and retail level than other imported products through innovation and design.”

While the preferred supply partnership marks a pivotal time in the history of the TAG brand, TJM is also excited by the arrangement.

“The two key reasons for this partnership are: the exceptional high quality of TAG Towbars and the logistical infrastructure of the SWD Group,” Matt said. “With towing being the number one modification category, we needed to select a great partner with a strong reputation and a comprehensive range of towing solutions.

“TAG Towbars delivers TJM exactly that, they cover 96 percent of the Australian Car Parc, offer premium powder coated three-piece towbars, extreme recovery towbars, plug and play wiring solutions, a full range of accessories and much more.

“TAG Towbars enable our customer access to bestin-class products that adequately align to the high standard set across the TJM product portfolio.

“There is also a strong alignment between the SWD Group infrastructure across Australia and the extensive network of TJM distributors.

“SWD Group have distribution facilities in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, and Perth offering us the speed to market we need and the service our customers’ demand.”

Matt believes it was the exceptional high quality and simplicity of the TAG products that impressed TJM.

“They are a seriously tough towbar with an incredibly easy fitment designed for a wide variety of applications fitting exceptionally well with our customers,” Matt said.

“TAG products provide adventurous off-roaders, camping enthusiasts, seasonal tourers, and weekend warriors alike with the towing setup they need to handle whatever journey they have planned.”

Matt indicated that TJM would be open to expanding its arrangement with SWD to include other products from its stable should the opportunity present itself.

“At TJM we regularly review our product mix, and it is of the upmost importance that we continue to provide our customers with the very best equipment they need to get the most out of their vehicles,” Matt said.

“We have rigorous standards that we apply for all products that come in to our range and we consider all opportunities for strategic fit on a case by case basis.

“Products developed by the SWD Group that align with our market, high quality standards and strategic vision for TJM will be assessed in the same way we review all available products in our market.”

Matt says the TJM network is paramount to the marketing strategy for the TAG/TJM alliance.

“We will market this product via our extensive distributor network throughout Australia. Products will also be available through our website and communicated via our social media channels and vast database of 4x4 enthusiasts,” Matt said.

“TJM ‘Take the Lead’ by equipping four-wheel drives with premium quality 4x4 accessories and have been doing so for the past 50 years.

“We have extremely rigorous standards and look for innovation at every turn. We ensure that our gear is engineered to withstand Australia’s harshest conditions and specifically designed for those that thrive on a 4x4 and outdoor lifestyle.

“With over 80 distributors and stockists across Australia, TJM is everywhere our customers are, offering all the gear they need.”

Matt says that the TAG offering adds to its evergrowing range.

“Our engineers are constantly reviewing our product mix to ensure we have the very best in market leading, high quality, and innovative products. This ensures our customers are getting the most out of their vehicles wherever they choose to take them,” Matt said.

“At the centre of the TJM brand is our customers’ ability to access an outdoor or off-road lifestyle. Therefore, the company’s future direction is to enable our customers to have everything they need to experience the very best nature has to offer in comfort and style.

“We see four-wheel driving as a key way to connect with nature and have a unique experience not generally on offer to those that like to stay on the beaten path.

“However, for TJM it is not just about the journey to get our customers to their chosen unique location. It is also about providing practical solutions to problems they may encounter once they arrive.

“Products that enhance the experience of being in the great Australian outdoors offer a real opportunity for TJM and one we are looking to explore further.” For more information, visit www.tjm.com.au or www.tagtowbars.com.au
