Final countdown to VASA’s Wire and Gas Convention continues
VASA has proudly announced that Peter Coll, the President of its North American counterpart Mobile Air Climate Systems Association (MACS), will be travelling from the United States to attend the Wire and Gas 2022 convention that takes place from July 29-31 at the lavishly refurbished JW Marriott Gold Coast. Peter will be participating in the industry panel session with MAC Partners Europe President Michael Ingvardsen (from Denmark) and VASA President, Ian Stangroome. This meeting of minds at the forefront of automotive air-conditioning, electrical and thermal management will provide valuable insight into how the sector is faring globally, what the future holds and what opportunities are to be found among the challenges. Also travelling a significant distance to participate in Wire and Gas 2022 will be Sally North, the Director of WorkSafe Service Industries and Specialists at the Western Australia Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety. Sally, who coordinated the development of the Heads of Workplace Safety Authorities position paper on flammable refrigerant gases published in 2018, will be participating in the refrigerant safety panel session hosted by Refrigerants Australia Executive Director, Greg Picker. Greg and Sally will be joined on the panel by Kylie Farrelley, General Manager of Refrigerant Reclaim Australia and Rodney Cumming, Compliance and Training General Manager at the Australian Refrigeration Council. The panel will discuss and explain issues around flammable refrigerants, how to approach them safely and legally, what to do when a system has been charged with a mix of refrigerants, and the responsibilities of technicians and business owners when it comes to keeping themselves and their customers out of harm’s way. Wire and Gas 2022 is promising to be a great success as the number of attendees, sponsors and exhibitors, as well as the level of broad industry support, are surpassing expectations. VASA says it is honoured and grateful to be able to host such a large, significant and well-attended event. The event will take place from July 29-31 at the lavishly refurbished JW Marriott Gold Coast and landmark VASA HQ/SuperTest facility in Ormeau, Queensland. VASA is Australasia’s trade association for specialists in auto air-conditioning, electrical and thermal management, disciplines that are converging and ideally placed to benefit as electrification becomes increasingly mainstream across everything from passenger cars to heavy vehicles and earthmoving equipment.
