REPCO AUTHORISED SERVICE REVS UP AT BATHURST

More than 100 lucky RAS members enjoyed a very special experience at The Great Race

As the Official Car Service Partner of the Repco Supercars Championship, the 60th running of the Repco Bathurst 1000 at Mount Panorama was a momentous occasion for Repco Authorised Service (RAS) and over 100 lucky members who enjoyed exclusive opportunities and unforgettable experiences at a motorsport celebration like no other.

The party started on Friday night as these closeknit workshop owners from across the country gathered for an exclusive event at the National Motor Racing Museum, soaking in the phenomenal Motorsport heritage whilst enjoying a mix of great food and drinks, and the expert insights of guest speakers, five-time Bathurst 1000 winner Steven Richards and his son Clay.

The adrenaline was pumping early on Saturday for the fortunate winners who got to do a coveted hot lap in one of the Repco course cars – including the RAS liveried Mustang and the ever-popular C10 chevy. The wide eyes and white knuckles said it all.

Meanwhile, another exclusive RAS event was being staged at the Repco Garage, with special guest, TV star (and motorsport fanatic) Grant Denyer sharing stories from his racing career. The gathering was filled with high-spirited camaraderie, especially during the Pitstop Challenge which saw apprentices, experienced techs and business owners face off in a competition to demonstrate their skills in changing tyres and refuelling.

The stakes were high with bragging rights on the line, along with several prizes for a behind-thescenes Pit Lane Tour that also included a photo on the famed winner’s podium.

At the conclusion of the Saturday’s racing (which included plenty of wining and dining), a cohort were treated to a surprise bus ride around the hallowed circuit with special tour guide Dick Johnson, who enthralled the group with a turnby-turn commentary of his legendary Bathurst experiences.

Another cherished moment was the chance to have a group photo taken with the Peter Brock Trophy. The trophy, named in honour of the iconic Australian racing driver, is a symbol of excellence in motorsport. For many, this was a dream come true – a testament to their passion for all things automotive.

On Sunday it was time for the main event – the Repco Bathurst 1000 itself – and with it came a much-envied opportunity to walk the Grid during the pre-race action and National Anthem in what was another amazing highlight for the fortunate participants.

The RAS crew enjoyed some of the best vantage points around Mount Panorama, soaking in the incredible atmosphere of the great race – a sensory overload of speed, precision and strategy as the drivers battled it out for a coveted podium finish in the biggest event on the racing calendar.

Regardless of the results, the 2023 Repco Bathurst 1000 was a huge win for the RAS members in attendance, who, united by their passion for cars and motorsport, got to share this amazing experience with their RAS mates, something which they can’t wait to replicate in 2024.
