Remembering: City of Delhi in any case is an assembly of diverse group of population and their respective habitats. Historic Organic Planned Unauthorized, High end Luxurious Middle-class apartments condominiums slums, plotted clustered, flatted, Rows in the Abads Purs Garhs Nagars Colonies Vihars Baghs Gardens Societies Kunjs Enclaves, even Farms, and, knowing that in reality Contextual Interrelationship is an open concept, it is subjective, and a variety of it is visible at the interfaces, often contested within the city. A new place where more people would live in various kinds of accommodation replacing the current disposition of a few beautiful small bungalows scattered over the vast green space cut into large highly privatized and inaccessible parcels of land with historical and emotional. significance but inefficient A housing for Members of Parliament and Govt. Officers and staff of A B C and D Categories.

The site selection for New Delhi was the outcome of extensive site surveys and based on a sensitive response to the multiple historic layers of preceding settlements and capitals of India. Unique design qualities are exhibited in the skillful adoption of the dominant concepts of city planning of the early twentieth century aligned with the historic remains of Delhi between the Yamuna River and the Aravalli ridge. It’s Garden city and City Beautiful ethos, urban boundaries, architecture, and landscape has been retained with high degree of authenticity through the seven decades since the time of its conception.

PROMINENT FACE OF THE SITE
GREEN LINKAGES
Staggering the buildings in such a way that green linkage is created with pockets and diagonal axis. The open areas are according to the height and enclosure of the building.
The high rise MIG & HIG buildings form the face of the site on the Central Vista side. The intention was to give the elites the view to the important public buildings and conceal the EWS & LIG buildings.
RESPONSE TO CENTRAL VISTA BUILDINGS
PEDESTRIAN ACCESS TO SITE
The pedestrian network is kept independent of the vehicular network & connects each income group on site to the open areas. Nodes created which act as places for both activity & pause facilitated by shops, parks or public facilities.
The LIG buildings create a uniform facade & a similar height as the central vista buildings as a gesture to its importance. A consolidated central open area accessible for all promotes inclusiveness. 10

A School of Architecture was proposed in the existing campus of GGSIP University, Dwarka. The program was divided into three parts according to use - the studios & lecture rooms which are more intimate spaces for the students, shared spaces like exhibition area, library, canteen & workshops, and a dedicated area for faculty and staff. Considering the site context and case studies - emphasis was given to integrate open spaces and mixed-use spaces. Sustainable practices were used to reduce the heat gain of the building and its associated embodied energy.

Nehru Place Bus Terminus ANDC 2020 | Group AutoCAD | SketchUp | Lumion | Photoshop | Illustrator
The Covid-19 Pandemic has affected the urban fabric in terms of pedestrian and vehicular movement. The implementation of something as basic as maintaining a 6ft distance seems very difficult in these dense urban locations. The need to solve the crisis from a designer’s point of view becomes the utmost priority as these public places require a dire need of makeover to suit the safety standards and make sure people step out of there homes safely as the world adjusts to a new normal. Our mobility spaces need a makeover to accomodate these people and to ensure their safety while using these spaces. Nehru Place located on a site of 96 acres was one of the first district centers built in the mid seventies as per the Delhi Master Plan 1961 but over the years has now started functioning as a city center with footfalls from other parts of Delhi and beyond. Over the last fifteen years the situation began to change with the influx of shops dealing with all kinds of digital accessories and today Nehru Place is Asia’s largest IT market.
