Conjuctivital Diseases


Conjuctivitis -Pink Eye  An inflammation of the conjunctiva  caused by a bacterial , viral infection and an allergies  Conjunctivitis can be extremely contagious and is spread by contact with eye secretions from someone who is infected.  By skin-to-skin contact (handshakes or hugs).  Symptoms  Redness, (Mostly Bilateral )  Itching and tearing of the eyes.  Discharge or crusting around the eyes. Puffy eyes


Conjunctivitis  It often resolves on its own, but treatment can speed the recovery process.  Bacterial conjunctivitis can be treated with antibiotic eye drops and Ointment(Gatifloxacilin ,Moxifloxacilin,Besifloxacilin)  Allergic conjunctivitis can be treated with antihistamines and Some times short Course of steroids (Dexamethasone ,Prednisolone Eye drops )  It's important to stop wearing contact lenses while affected by conjunctivitis
