OUR STORY Hentsch Man is a simple, elegant and wearable menswear brand, which seeks to provide men with their classic wardrobe basics. The products have been meticulously designed to eliminate all fanciful details, ensuring that the clothes are stream-lined, flattering and subtle. The collection is intentionally small as we’d rather offer a handful of products we are confident you will wear, rather than bombard you with too much choice. Our brand is for young men with simple and good aesthetics. They know a good thing when they see it, but don’t necessarily have the time or the patience to scour the earth for their wardrobe wares. Hentsch Man is a one-stop-shop for basic staples – from a classic white shirt, to well-tailored trousers, and the occasional quirky accessory. As well as our own brand, we like to collect bits and pieces from around the world. We keep an eye out for local flare – things that are specific to a place, and yet so chic when taken out of context – Indian plimsoles worn by school children, Venetian velvet slippers worn with suits, original desert boots, Mediterranean espadrilles, classic panama hats – things that have been around long before us. Things that we wouldn’t dream of copying – we prefer incorporating them – putting them under the Hentsch Man banner and combining them with our simple products. Together, they’re the perfect answer to a wardrobe of elegant basics and a twist in the details. Because we want our Hentsch Men to look chic, but not like they’ve fallen out of a catalogue. The idea came about in the search for the perfect white shirt –
a staple in any man’s wardrobe, and yet so difficult to find. So we set about designing one, and when we felt we had it right, we placed a small order. The response was so positive, that we felt we had touched upon a nerve. So without compromising our ethos of simplicity and function, we set about making more shirts, and then trousers, boxers, footwear – eventually, a more complete menswear collection. Our values can be seen in the quality of our materials and production. We keep all manufacturing in Europe as we believe in its superior quality, reliability and dependability. All our fabrics and raw material come from Italy, Portugal and Spain. We like to think that, even in the smallest way, we are contributing to the continuation of European manufacturing heritage because it is one that we come from and wish to see continue in the future.
THE SHIRT ON
YOUR BACK Our original shirt is The Jack Shirt. The cut is slim-fitted, though not tight and constricting. We’ve have taken out all extra pleats, darts, or frills – anything that would clutter the design. It uses a single button cuff and single button collar. The length is long enough to be comfortably tucked into suit trousers, whilst being short enough to be worn un-tucked. It works as well under a tailored jacket as with a scruffy pair of jeans. We later added the French cuff option. Suprisingly known as the The French Shirt… Good to impress at the office. The shirts come in eight different colours and in variations of stripes, checks and plains. One of each will ensure a tight look throughout the year, regardless of the season, day of the week or mood. All our fabrics come from northern Italy and Portugal. European mills guarantee the best quality and reliability that is yet to be matched elsewhere. And until it is, that’s where we’ll stay. And as a finishing touch, all our buttons are all mother of pearl. It’s a small detail, but for those that pay close attention, it makes all the difference. SHIRT COLOUR: RED POLKA-DOT, BLUE GINGHAM, PINK, GREY STRIPE, RED STRIPE, PINK GINGHAM, BLUE, WHITE
A LEG TO
STAND ON In keeping with our look, our trousers too are fitted and streamlined. They’re an ideal medium between jeans and a suit - can be worn casually, rolled-up at the ankle with a classic white T, or with a shirt and blazer. Either way, sporty or sleek, they’ll make any man look elegant and fine. Inspired by a 60s Steve McQueen – they’re ever-so-slightly high-wasted, flat-fronted and tapered at the ankle. Our palette is perfect for the summer. Classic navy for the city; pistaccio green, red and baby blue for the holiday break.
TROUSERS COLOUR: SKY BLUE, CORAL RED, PISTACHIO GREEN, NAVY BLUE
THE SOLES OF
YOUR FEET On our extensive travels, we’ve been collecting ideas as we go along. Every season, we aim to bring you a new item from a foreign land – a local ware or small brand that we incorporate under the Hentsch Man umbrella. We fully recognise that these are not our creations – but we have the eye to spot them, and by mixing and matching them with our city clothes, we make our brand more original and fun. And in doing so, we like to think that we’re supporting local commerce and helping older methods of manufacture to survive. For this summer, we’ve sussed out Mediterranean espadrilles from the Balearic Isle of Ibiza – a little workshop hidden in the depths of the Dalt Villa. We chose six colours – some calm, some electric, to match your Hentsch Man look. Also, a trip to India led to the discovery of classic white plim-soles worn by every school-boy and girl as part of the uniform.
They we too good to pass up, so we searched for larger
sizes and finally found some we could bring back with us. The next Converse?
SHOES COLOUR: NAVY BLUE, BABY PINK, BABY BLUE, RED, STRIPY, OLIVE GREEN
COMING
SOON We hope you’ll enjoy our first summer collection… There’s lots to look forward to in the fall too. Well be Introducing the Benny shirt. It’s casual, it’s chic, a weekend shirt. Something cosier in various different shades of flannel. Our trousers will be in Curdoroy in a more autumnal palette. But no matter how far we go, we’ll never stray too far away from the original idea or products. You’ll always be able to find your trusty Jack shirt and classic slacks – in their original colours…
