I am Helen Ho, an Associate Degree student at the Community College of City University. I am studying Media and Publication design (MPD). I was born in mainland China and came to Hong Kong when I was 12 years old. Fortunately, I adjusted to the life here quickly and made many friends at school. For me, one of the important parts of my secondary school life is extracurricular activities. When I was a form 2 student, I joined the rope skipping team with my friends. We found that this activity was very interesting and we took it seriously. We represented our school in many competitions. In 2007 we entered the Asia Championship on behalf of Hong Kong and got a very good result. It was unforgettable for me. And now, I am a rope skipping coach and teach rope skipping in primary schools. My time with the HKCEE and HKALE was so hard for me. In 2007 my HKCEE result was not so good so that I turned to other school to continue my form 6-7 study. In 2009 the HKALE was also a setback to me. I cannot enter my ideal university and so started my new school life in CCCU. I am interested in design and publication so that I chose AAMPD. Through the study in semester A, I knew more about what design is and how to do design and do it creatively. It is not as easy as I had thought. Besides, design subjects also need to study language subjects. These two kinds of subjects are so different so we need to have two very different study modes. Although the process is very hard, I enjoy design a lot. The following pages showcase my creative works...

Photography Poster This is a snap shot poster. All the photos are taken at night. The "N" stand for night. I use a black cloth to cover the board and use pins to pin the photos on the board.
Poster This is a Hong Kong street art poster. I have taken numerous of photos and just choosed a few of them for the poster. It looks very simple but the process of choosing photos is the most difficult one and I spended lots of time on it. Finally, the outcome satisfied me.

這一些都是我最喜愛的東西。 其實我很喜 歡動物 , 只是昆蟲類的例外。特別是那些 毛茸茸的哺乳類動物 , 當然包括貓和狗。 我最喜歡全身黑色的貓 , 因為覺得很有型 , 還會被它們神秘的眼神所吸引。而狗就是 金毛尋回犬 , 它們性格開朗活潑 , 看到它 們心情也會好起來。 即使不是毛茸茸的 , 也有我很喜歡的一 種 ---- 青蛙。常常有人問我 :「青蛙這種 嘔心的動物 , 你怎麼會喜歡啊 ?」還露出 驚訝的表情。 我會回答說 :「不會呀 , 我 覺得很可愛啊。」接下來得到的是更驚訝 的表情。 青蛙的很多品種都很特別 , 而且 顏色鮮艷 , 蹲著的時候很有姿勢 , 還顯得 有點呆呆的 , 還滿有趣的。 至於玫瑰花嘛 , 喜歡它有很多原因。我小 時候第一次看見玫瑰 , 是被它的香氣所吸 引的 , 後來才知道那就是玫瑰。它有不同 的顏色 , 各種顏色都離不開它獨有的浪漫 氣質。還有它的刺 , 讓人有一種距離感 , 不易接近 , 這種不完美反而使人著迷。 其實蝴蝶結一開始是別人對我的印象 , 可 能經常不經意地買了很多有蝴蝶結的東 西 , 朋友說一看到蝴蝶結就會想起我 , 後 來我也就慢慢喜歡了 , 成為了我的標籤。 我一向喜歡日本文化 , 無論是食物 , 衣服 , 建築 , 都能使我注意。日本雜誌使我認識 了不少日本的事情 , 也使我本身擁有了不 少日本的氣息 , 朋友常會說的的衣著非常 日本化 , 我也很喜歡被他們這樣肯定。
