ELIGIBILITY HIGHLIGHTS

Certification requirements utilize standards identified in the peer-reviewed medical literature as a framework for eligibility.

Family Medicine Obstetrics Requirements Family Medicine Obstetrics

Have completed certification in the Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) and Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) programs or equivalent.

Submit a case log that is externally validated by one of the following: Medical Records, Medical Office Staff, Medical Director, Department Chair, or Program Director.

Case log must demonstrate evidence or ongoing obstetric practice by having completed 60 vaginal deliveries, 15 of which must have been in the last 2 years (including those performed in residency and/or fellowship training).

Completed a 12-month, full-time fellowship recognized by the BCFMO. Family Physicians who have not completed a fellowship are still encouraged to apply.

In addition to the Family Medicine Obstetrics requirements 1 and 2 above, submit a case log of cesarean sections*, including those as primary surgeon, with a minimum of 10 in the past 2 years.
