Champaign,IL

ARCH 475 UIUC 2013 16 Week Architecture in today’s world has more emphasis on how to bring more daylight into the building and saving some energy and the environment. Therefore, the design proposed a skylight that acts like a light well providing natural light throughout the building. The other concept was the use of materials, using a copper finish perforated metal panels that act like a screen for west and south elevations. The use of copper was to maintain the integrity of down town Champaign, as the existing building around the site our red brick. The design maintains the feel of down town Champaign, but also provides IAGS to have its own presences in Champaign.

Site located on the comer of Clark St. and Webster Ave. The program of the project was to create a public library. The concept was to create a Online Hub: A library for people who talke online classses. The library acted as Hub for students like single parent, disable, and elder people. It gave opportunity to these student to come at a place and interact with one another. The buildings second floor acted like the hub and had these structural tubes that prutrut out, creating these open gathering spaces for students to study and interact with other students, contradicting the concept of online classes of being sucluded from the world.

Monticello,IL

ARCH 372 UIUC 2012 6 Week

A interactive learning environment that helps the student to be one with nature and also have a fun while learning the skill of performing arts. The main concept of the design was to create a natural focal point, with buildings acting like the frame. The central performing area act like the natural focal point. The buildings are tilt on a 45 degree angle to have a focal entrance to the site, from the sunken gardens. The facade of the building is a simple double layered facade with steel and concrete construction of the building and the second layer of the facade is a wooden mesh that has an abstract interpretation of the building arrangement on the site.

[04] Platform

Champaign,IL

ARCH 352 UIUC 2013 8 Week Study of structural components of a building. The program of the project was to create a platform in Champaign. Design was to study different connection that come together in a construction. Design consist of a central column with suspended cable stairs from the roof. Also wraping the base column with mirror to give the illusion of floating in the space. The project was a group project, where my goal was to make the model and work on detail drawings. Group Members: Zach Whitmire, Dimitri Polychronopulos, Nathan Capaccio
