After personally observing the beauty of Falling Waters I decided to render it through stippling to capture its natural essence as it blends with its environment. I used a .005 Micron felt tip pen to portray this magnificent structure.

Vila Savoye
Materials: Basswood
Build a famous structure out of basswood from a list provided and create architectural drawings. The Villa Savoye was built in 1931 by a Swiss architect Le Corbusier. It is located in the outskirts of Paris, France. This building is known for its 5 points of new architecture and is a fundamental foundation for modern architecture. 1) Pilots where used to lift the building allowing cars to drive underneath 2) Designing a free floor plan of any structural element. This allowed him to place walls in an aesthetically pleasant manner and as functionally needed 3) Freely designed facades from any structural functions. Its main purpose being skin for the wall, privacy, and protection from the elements 4) Long horizontal windows on all four side of the structure, allowing rooms to be lit equally 5) Roof top garden. “ A building should give back the space it takes from the ground, by replacing it with a garden in the sky.

RESIDENTIAL MODEL CONSTRUCTION A three-phase project meant to explore the world of construction through materials and assemblies. A scale model for the foundation was required for phase one. A scaled model of the first floor in a home was required for phase two A scaled model of the roof was required for the third phase

Ecology Center To study the genesis of architectural form through development and intense investigation of architectural concepts at multiple levels of detail through sustainable solutions. Phase One will explore architectural concepts, symbolism and forms, along with executing design representation of concepts and partis. It will also apply a general understanding of structure and how it can be used expressively throughout all phases.
Concept Statement: Design a sustainable structure harmonious with nature and the environment by incorporating natural airflow, nature’s textures, and rhythmic sways.
Biomimicry: My structural design will use the biometric curvilinear forms found on site to enable the structure to harmoniously blend with its environment Species found on site (stingrays, starfish, birds and whales) Waves Wind Surrounding mountains

Gallery Design This project is a study of a series of exhibit spaces that uses nine cubes/volumes. It’s a modification or variation of a Bauhaus exercise involving the manipulation of nine squares to form a composition. You will arrange, position, and modify these cubes to house the activity of your choice. These are not a literal space rather, the spaces you create are poetic and metaphorical. My concept is incorporating interlocking and rotated cubes to create a modern sculpture gallery. Looking at the nine cubes that we were given I used one big cube and six smaller cubes and arranged them using radial organization. The three end cubes and the large middle cube were all rotated on different axis and connected to each other using a square corridor. These cubes were rotated and sunk into the ground to create a sense of hierarchy to the spaces. The remaining two cubes were also rotated and interlocked to create an open space outdoors that accommodates for larger sculptures. This outdoor space was lowered into the ground to show hierarchy of the gallery spaces.

Library Design The library must relate comfortably to the other buildings in DuPont Circle, yet have its own character and identity. The city is not nostalgic for historic styles, and there are no Fine Arts Commission constraints on this block. You should develop a narrative or story line for the building as part of the process of establishing its character.

Summer Internship 2019
Interior Designer: Stephanie Bradshaw Contractor: Procor Construction
The design team presented me with a problem. They needed to split the upstairs space of a restaurant into two section using a partition wall. The challenge was that they wanted this wall to be a separation of space but not of sight, light and sound. They want the partition to be aesthetically pleasing and wanted it designed to mimic a tree in order to fit in with the concept of the restaurant. I took measurements of the restaurant and created renderings of the design I envisioned for the client.
