A LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT Amazing things happen when you create an organization that fosters an ecosystem of trust, common purpose and passion for something bigger than the people itself. This last year saw AIESEC US come together to put aside it’s differences and work towards a common mission of provide life changing leadership experiences to the youth of the US and the world around us. At many times we found ourselves searching for strategies and tactics that would change the course of AIESEC US but realized that the true potential of the organization lay in it’s people. When you empower people and truly believe in them they then believe in themselves to do things way greater than you ever imagined. This year was just the beginning of a movement of young americans believing that the future of the country and the world was in their hands and that they could truly make a difference. People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it. So we went back to our members in the effort to create a community of leader who understood why we do what we do and what manifested was 9 statements that simply made sense which now is our common language. We realized that transforming the organization not only meant being daring enough to let go of what we know, challenge the status quo and embrace uncertainty but also to have the nerve to challenge ourselves, learn, unlearn and relearn. And finally, one cannot lead an organization by himself. Being MCP of AIESEC US meant working with a team of fighters who never gave up on what they believed in and pushed you everyday to become the best version of yourself. This year wouldn’t have been what it was if it wasn’t for my team- MC Beyond and the LCP Generations of 2014 and 2015 and our people. Thier humility, courage, boldness, willingness to change and eagerness to get s*** done is what made AIESEC US in 14-15. This was only the beginning. The transformation continues… Niels Caszo President AIESEC in the United States 14-15

How do you push an organization to do more? When it comes to aligning and streamlining the energy, talent, and vision of a group of young people across the United States, the answer if purpose. But a purpose cannot simply be spoken into the world and allowed to work as-is; it takes a space in which members from across universities and hierarchies can contribute and commit to something bigger. In August 2014 we made that space a reality and through hours of dreaming and crafting, a series of nine statements that would alter the way we did things was bored. This Manifesto has connected individuals and committees to something bigger than our global mission in the context of our country and when we need to determine if the next move is the right one, we look to these collective statements for the answers. Why? Because it makes sense.

OUR PARTNERS COMPANIES & ORGANIZATIONS THAT HELP AIESEC ADVANCE ITS MISSION

After signing a contract with True Vision Systems, a medical technology company, AIESEC San Luis Obispo was thrilled to be “expecting” again with two new interns (Slim from Tunisia and Kamil from Poland). We anticipated a smooth realization process, as usual, but that is NOT what we got. After initial visa problems, we were faced with another issue - two separate flights into opposite ends of California... Both delayed until 10pm... And 4 hours away from Goleta, California: True Vision’s headquarters. Despite the difficult conditions, our team pulled through. We had members wait as long as 7 hours in the airports, all eagerly awaiting the arrivals of Slim and Kamil. AIESEC San Jose’s Brent Villalobos hosted Slim for the first night, who lost his luggage while traveling, and Brent made sure he was rested before heading down to Goleta. Following their crazy arrivals, AIESEC member Madison Fleming let both interns stay at her house for two weeks before their leases started. She helped Slim and Kamil feel welcomed and secure in their new home, where they stated that their, “American dreams had come true”. AIESEC is a family. It took a group effort from multiple chapters to make sure our interns arrived safely. The dedication of each member who helped really shows the love and compassion behind this wonderful organization. Our interns are absolutely thrilled to be here through AIESEC, and I can’t wait to go through great lengths to bring in more wonderful people in the future.
