WHO AM I? I’m a 24 year old industrial designer from India I like to maintain a balance between the conceptual and realistic in my designs, and am pragmatic in my approach to my work and projects. Design is not my only passion, I’m also big on music, sports, and sci-fi, and these take up my spare time, but also act as muses for me when I’m deep into a project.

UI INTERNSHIP:
MOBILE APPLICATION
RETHINKING E-COMMERCE. The benchmarks led us to design the application in a polar opposite direction from conventional e-commerce platforms, wanting it to be more visual, instinctive and alluring.
Our intention was to invoke the experience of discovery while buying the product itself. The coffee page was made so that it could be a subconscious action for the user to purchase without having to go through unnecessary actions.
REPEATED PROTOYPING. Innovating away from the conventional forced constraints by the programming possibility, resulting in the creation of evolving prototypes on a daily basis.

Vero iOS Application
LUXURY IN DESIGN. The intention was that the identity be centered around the highest echelons of luxury, to provide the user with the feeling of exclusivity and perfection.
A WHOLE NEW PROCESS. Working on UI/UX introduced me to a different process from industrial product design. Working in parallel with a development team with constant prototype builds to test the product, reinforcing the importance of prototypes in product design as well.
MOBILE APPLICATION
CREATING A SKELETON. The information architecture was quickly built into skeletal wireframes, to demonstrate the usability and experience of the application. The user base and lifestyle of the target user was a key focus going forward from here.
INTEGRATING LIFESTYLES. The essential aspect of the application was to integrate the cultural character of the stylists, while maintaining a neutral and crisp base for the design.
APPLICATIONS RELEASED. Projects that I worked on, both from start to end and also those I joined midway have already been released. One of the apps and the product it’s associated with was featured at TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2015.

COLLEGEPROJECTS
ALIIGN. KITCHEN
KITCHEN APPLIANCE RANGE
Wall mounted connected kitchen hood
Water filter and shower faucet
Burner and induction hob
Drawer oven with microwave function
TEMPERATURE CONTROL. The dial on the filter allows the user to have control over the temperature of the water flow, reducing the time they would spend having to heat water either on the hob or the microwave, while still having access to regular water.
Fountain Flow
Shower Flow
Aerated Flow
ADJUSTABLE WATER FLOW. The dial at the faucet head can be rotated to switch between different types of flow, ranging from fountain to aerated, allowing the faucet to fit the needs of different processes in the kitchen
TRADITIONAL BUT EXPERIMENTAL. The hob offers the comfort of the conventional with the versatility of theexperimental by giving both gas burners and a flex induction surface. These have dials with visual feedback for burner controls and a touch surface for induction and controls synced with other appliances and the app.
TOUCHSCREEN CONTROLS. The controls to the flex induction surface appear once the utensils or accessories are placed on it. This gives the user control over delayed timers, countdown timers and temperature.
AUTOMATED ASSISTANCE. The hood automatically turns on when the hob is in use, and the manual control for the appliance pops up on the hob control panel, giving the user all the controls in one place.
HEADS UP CONTROLS. A heads up display on the glass window which activates on touch, gives the user control over the oven functions. This is accessible as soon as the power is turned on and the food is placed in the oven.
VISUAL INDICATORS. The oven window in the counter allows the user to use the counter space for preparation of other dishes and items in the kitchen while still actively keeping control on the food in the oven.
AT YOUR FINGERTIPS. The control of the microwave, similar to the hood, transfers over to the hob control panel, keeping the user aware of the progress while they may be doing something else in the kitchen.
COMPANION APPLICATION.
EVO. BYSAMSUNG NEW HORIZONS IN THE IoT
ALWAYS NEW EXPERIENCES. The different angles of the screen plus the versatility. The smart modules turn into motion sensors, tangible buttons and also a recognizable marker on the screen offering multiple inputs depending on the usage.

FOLLOW KIDS’ PROGRESS. A companion app for parents enables them to follow the kids’ progress, suggests exercises to aid their child’s development and notifies them of educative events that your child can enjoy.
NIXON NEBULATIDE.
TIME & TIDE. A single hand for the hours and a disc around the edge to show the minutes. A backlit centre helps the user see the tide levels so that they know when to hit the waves for the best surf.
Single hand at centre to show both the time and the tide
Backlit indicator shows the tide for the next few hours to notify the user
Reversed minute hand for a minimal feel
BREAKDOWN. Rotating disc with a lock to set the watch. Rotate one way and then the other to set
Simple to use, simple to read and a design language to make the product a fit for the environment be it the beach, with its pop colours or the professional life with the sleek form.

HELLOTHERE, I’m Aaron, an Industrial Designer from Mumbai, India. Curiosity and a keen eagerness to learn has moulded my out of the box thinking, which is one of my strengths as a designer. Design is not my only passion, I’m also big on music, sports, and sci-fi, and these take up my spare time, but also act as muses for me when I’m deep into a project. Give me the chance to learn and I’ll grab the opportunity with both hands, just like I did in my time as a UI and product design intern. It’s something I aspire to do to grow my base of knowledge and design.
