Take a surf lesson under the guidance of professionals from the Piha Surf School or explore the rocky edges and, if you’re okay with heights, climb Lion Rock. Refuel at Piha Café afterwards. Waves can be wild and daunting but in summer the beach is patrolled by lifeguards.
