Ōrewa Beach

Don’t miss this sunny seaside town 40km north of the CBD. Its white-sand beach attracts a crowd for many reasons, namely swimming, sunbathing and an array of water sports.

Te Ara Tāhuna Estuary Walkway, Ōrewa

Walk or ride this 7.6km track that fringes the water and passes an eye-catching Māori carving, parks and cafés. Flat and gentle, it’s a good option for families with kids.

Ōrewa Estuary Arts Centre

Exhibitions are fresh here, there’s a delightful gift shop and café, and if you’re up for it, workshops too.

Alice Eaves Bush Path

At the northern end of Ōrewa, you’ll find this peaceful short bush walk. The path is mainly gravel and boardwalk, with plenty of steps.

Silverdale

On your way north, stop off at one of the new cafés in Silverdale before you explore the beautiful Hibiscus Coast.

Auckland Adventure Park Kids both young and old love the luge, bungy, zipline, tube rides and 7D movies. Just outside of Ōrewa.

The flat grassy areas are perfect for a game of cricket or touch. Visit the historic Couldrey House, climb theancient pōhutukawa trees, paddle the balmy estuary or hit the beach, ideal for little swimmers.
