Tāmaki Drive

Seaside vibes are all but a 10-minute drive (or a one-and-a-half hour walk) from downtown Auckland to Mission Bay. Tāmaki Drive offers a pictureperfect route from central Auckland to the beach, following the water’s edge with Rangitoto views.

Welcome in the afternoon with ice cream! Mövenpick, Kapiti and Kiwiyo are choice places to grab a cone.

Cruising the Prom

Hire some rollerblades or a bike, and coast the coast Venice Beach style along the flat promenade.

On the Water

Splash out and hire paddleboards and kayaks to make the most of your time in Ōkahu Bay. Ferg’s have a staggering range toget you out on the water, including dragon boats and giant stand-up paddleboards that carry up to eight people.

Fitness Park

Work out in the sunshine at this free public park, designed by fitness gurus and calisthenics/parkour experts, at the eastern end of the Selwyn Reserve.

TOP TIP: The pathway along Tāmaki Drive is shared by pedestrians and cyclists. Hire bikes from Mission Bay, or from Adventure Capital in central Auckland.
